Lewis was born Sept. 11, 1907, in Chicago. Eisenhower High School, Blue Island, as an English and history teacher after 30 years, and where he was tennis coach, leading the team to the Illinois state championship in 1950; was presented with the school's distinguished alumnus award in 1997; and was the first inductee into the Illinois High School Tennis Hall of Fame. He later founded the Learning Center and College Prep businesses until he retired responsibilities to his son, Stephen, in 1994. In addition to his son, Mr.

Yates is survived by his wife, Margaret; another son, Christopher (Corinne) of Michigan; a sister, Bess (Phil) Askey; and a brother, James (Anne). Murder suspect pleads innocent APC News Service Palos Hills pharmacist Barry McCarthy pleaded innocent Tuesday at an arraignment hearing on charges he murdered his 48-yearold Frankfort girlfriend, Juliet Chinn. A pretrial date of Aug. 25 was scheduled before Will County Circuit Court Judge Rodney Lechwar, according to Will County state's attorney spokeswoman Lisa Morel-Las. McCarthy, 49, was charged last month with first-degree murder for the May stabbing death of Chinn in her townhouse.
