Barbara L. Hunter, 70, of Findlay, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Arrangements are pending at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel.

Heather Doe
Homemaker/factory assembler

Heather Doe, 38, of 125 Taft Blvd., Fostoria, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at 626 Broadway, Fostoria.

She was born Sept. 12, 1959, in Fostoria, to Lloyd R. and Joyce E. (Wolfelt) Doe. They survive in Fostoria. She had been married to Kenneth Duran and they were divorced.

Other survivors include: a son, Ian M. Duran of Findlay; three daughters, Kendra J. Fruth, Brittney R. Duran and Baili L. Bostwick, all of Fostoria; two brothers, Todd E. Doe of Fostoria and Tadley S.J. Doe of Bettsville; two sisters, Mrs. Mark (Londa) Bautaw of Columbus, Ind., and Mrs. Brad (Shavonne "Jane") Davis of Fostoria; and two grandchildren.

Ms. Doe, a homemaker, also had been employed as an assembler at Lamson and Sessions in Bowling Green. She enjoyed woodworking, gardening and helping others.

Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Georgene J. Slagle officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Dwight M. Hazeltine
Fostoria businessman/auto parts owner

Dwight M. Hazeltine, 90, of 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria, at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998.

He was born in Beloit, Wis., Oct. 12, 1907, the son of Silas and Iva (Stebbins) Hazeltine. His wife, Ruth N. (Nelson) Hazeltine, whom he married Feb. 22, 1930, in Chicago, Ill, died March 27, 1990.

Surviving are a son, Nelson B. Hazeltine of Chapin, S.C.; two granddaughters, Kara Nurrenbrock and Karis Mott; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert B. Hazeltine of Beloit.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Dwight M. Hazeltine Jr.; a brother, Claron S. Hazeltine; and two sisters, Dorothy Tipton and Violet Westby.

Mr. Hazeltine, the former owner of Buckeye Auto Parts in Fostoria for 39 years, retired in 1980.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria; Fostoria Exchangeclub, Rotary Club, Fostoria Chamber of Commerce, where he had served as past president and past finance chairman of the Fostoria YMCA.

He served on the committee to help start Fostoria United Way and also was a member of Free and Accepted Masons 288, Fostoria, Fostoria Shrine Club and the Fostoria Country Club.

Mr. Hazeltine served as chairman of the first Beautification Committee of Fostoria and as former director, president and chairman of the board of the Ohio Savings and Loan.

The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will officiate at the 11 a.m. Saturday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, where Masonic Lodge services will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 900 Van Buren St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Celestia P. "Polly" Reiter
G.E. retiree/practical nurse

Celestia P. "Polly" Reiter, 83, formerly of North TR 165, Tiffin, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, April 27, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, where she resided.

She was born in Fostoria, Feb. 15, 1915, to Frederick and Viola P. (Bauman) Martin.

Surviving are a son, Nelson S. Bauman Jr. of Aberdeen, Md.; four daughters, Barbara Kreisher of West Millgrove, Mrs. Charles (Sondra) Raymo and Nancy Roberts, both of Monroe, Mich. and Linda Sipe of Fostoria; two brothers, Donald Martin of Burbank, Calif. and Fred Martin of Port Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Hill of Bascom; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a son, Kenneth Bauman; a brother, Robert Martin; a sister, Margaret Hunker; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Reiter had worked as a licensed practical nurse in Monroe for 20 years, prior to moving to the Tiffin area. She then worked at the General Electric in Tiffin for 17 years, retiring in 1977.

Graveside services in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Mary Slaughterbeck officiating.

Visitation for the family will be private. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Cory S. Woessner
Findlay student

Cory S. Woessner, 17, of Findlay, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, April 26, 1998, in St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born Sept. 10, 1980, in Fostoria, the son of Sam Hammons and Debra Woessner. His father survives in Fremont and his mother in Findlay.

Other survivors include: grandparents, Ralph Woessner of Lindsey and Betty Burton of Lima; four brothers, Sam Jr. and Raymond Hammons, both of Fremont, Russell Hammons of Clyde and Roy Hammons of Old Fort; six sisters, Patsy Estep of Port Clinton, Glady King and Heather Hammons, both of Fremont and Joan Miller, Maggie Knipp and Donna Miller, all of Clyde; numerous nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

A sister, Christine Hammons, is deceased.

He was a student.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Findlay Chapel, where services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Oak Wood Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials may be made to the family, in care of the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, 3480 N. Main St., P.O. Box 965, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Frank G. Hovis Jr.
Farmer/construction company owner

Frank G. Hovis Jr., 79, of Risingsun, died in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 1998.

He was born in Helena, May 8, 1918, to Frank G. and Hazel E. (Ritchey) Hovis Sr. On Dec. 22, 1936, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., he married Betty J. Frazier. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, John A. and Ronald J. Hovis, both of Risingsun, and Donald A. Hovis of Bradner; a daughter, Leone M. James of Valley Falls, Kan.; a sister, Phyllis Preston of Lexington, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were: a sister, Mary Barth; a brother, Richard Hovis; and a granddaughter.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific, Mr. Hovis owned and operated Hovis and Son's Construction for 49 years and also was engaged in farming.

He was a member of both the Fremont Eagles and Elks, Welker-Smith American Legion Post 17, Gibsonburg, the Sandusky County Sportsman Club, where he was a life member, and the Risingsun Volunteer Fire Department.

Services in Risingsun First Church of God will be 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Paul Rutledge and Dr. Darrell Prichard officiating. Burial will be in Scott-Trinity Cemetery, Sandusky County, Scott Township.

Visitation at the Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne, is 7-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The body also will lie in state one hour before the services at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the church, Risingsun Volunteer Fire Department, American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Richard L. Callendar
Fremont resident

Memorial services for Richard L. Callendar, 78, of Fremont, who died Thursday, April 9, 1998, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Fremont Country Club. The Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont, is in charge of arrangements.

Betty J. Heath-Bloomfield
Homemaker/Tiffin native

Betty J. Heath-Bloomfield, 72, of Woodville, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, Ohio, following a sudden illness.

She was born in Tiffin, Sept. 27, 1925, the daughter of Benjamin and Minnie (Roy) Runion. Her husband, Ray Heath, whom she married July 13, 1944, in Woodville, preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1967.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Richard A. (Barbara) Ickes Sr. of Walbridge, Mrs. Michael (Betty S.) Klavinger and Mrs. Donald (Judy A.) Klavinger Sr., both of Woodville; a son, David L. Heath of Woodville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Runion of Tiffin; and three sisters, Mable Ruhle of Sycamore, Ruth Ross of Norwalk and Mrs. Clyde (Sarah) Fish of Tiffin.

Also preceding her in death were: a daughter, Florence Heath; a son, Jerry R. Heath; a great-grandson, Dustin Hurley; and four brothers, Allen, Frank, Clarence and Bob Runion.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bloomfield was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, Fremont.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Woodville. Interment will be in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-9 p.m. today, with the family present 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Woodville Township Volunteer Fire Department or the church.
