WERNER, Sandra M. age 69, of Verona, OH, died Monday July 12, 2010 at Regency Manor in Columbus, Ohio. Born on August 16, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958. For over 20 years she was the dispatcher for the Verona Police Department. She served as a Cub Scout Leader and is a member and past Sunday school teacher at the Verona United Methodist Church where she is active in the ladies groups of the church.

Her husband, Fred E. Werner, died in 2009. Survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Greg E. Werner of Covington, Ohio, William J. Gail Werner of Lewisburg, Ohio and John E.

Werner of Verona, Ohio. Grandsons: Brandon, Anthony, Corey, Nelson, Joseph Werner and Christopher Rutherford. Granddaughters: Jerrica and Kyriea Werner. Great grandchildren: Gabriel Jayden A. Werner.

J.P. and Rae S. Thornbury who preceded him in death along with a sister Helen Rae Tetirick and daughter Bonnie Sue Richey. He was a loving father and grandfather to Tom (Angie) of Los Angeles, CA, Pam (Dennis) Wehby of Spring Valley, Melody (Roger) Hubley of Mason, and Tim (Diane) of Tipp City, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Barbara Doster of Centerville and Dorothy (Ralph) Nill of Fairborn, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was born in Louisville, KY and raised in Harveysburg, Ohio where he attended school, and was a custom home builder in the area. He was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Warren County Historical Society, Harveysburg Historical Society, Antique Auto Club, Antique Horse and Buggy Club and assistant Fire Chief of Lebanon. Jim was an avid historian and enjoyed collecting memorabilia, antique cars, toys and trains. He loved having family and friends to his farm in Oregonia which he called Paradise Valley. He was proud of his covered bridge, old mill and blacksmith shop that he had built on his property.

He enjoyed traveling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was kind and generous not only to his family, but friends, acquaintances and strangers. He has donated his body to Wright State University School of Medicine.

Walter was born in King's Daughter's Hospital in Ashland, KY on June 3, 1956 to Christine (Wheat) and Walter Smith, Sr. He is survived by his wife Rhea; his father Walter his brother William and sister in law Suzanne; and an amazing niece, Ginny. There are countless wonderful cousins, friends and relations that made his life rich with love.

Christine his mother passed three years ago and welcomes her boy home. Walter was Valedictorian of Russell High School in Russell, KY. He graduated from Morehead State University in 1978 with a degree in music, theory and composition. He returned to Morehead in 1982 and completed a computer science degree. It was during his return to Morehead that he met the girl that would become his wife of 24 years.

Walt was an amazing woodwind player specializing in saxophone. He performed with numerous bands including Sunburst, Dynasty and the Tommy Dorsey Band. He backed numerous top line acts including Ray Charles, the Four Tops, the Temptations and Mel Torme. Walt will be missed not only for his amazing musical ability, but also for his sharp wit and fine mind. Our loss is great.

age 95, died July 7, 2010 at his 10 Wilmington Place home. His long time residence was on Glenbeck Avenue in Kettering. Mr. Rodgers retired from Delco Products division of General Motors Corporation after 44 years of service as a process and product engineer. He was born in Cincinnati to Joseph S.

and Hettie Miller Rodgers, was a graduate of Withrow High School, and of the University of Cincinnati with a B.S.E.E. degree. Through his work he earned several patents on products and on manufacturing equipment. Mr. Rodgers had been President of the Dayton section of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, was active in the Dayton Y.M.C.A., a member of the Y.M.C.A.

age 89 of Englewood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 11, 2010. Byron retired from Conrail Railroad in 1982 after 40 years of service. He attended the Fairview Brethren in Christ Church of Englewood his entire life and served as a choir member, church treasurer and Deacon for many years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Ruth (Moist) Wenger, two sets of twins: Keith (Sue) Wenger, Karen (Duane) Weaver, Garry (Cheri) Wenger, Larry (Karen) Wenger, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces: Gloria Zook, Cheryl Riggs, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Edith (Engle) Wenger and sister: Evelyn Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Fairview Brethren in Christ Church (750 Union Englewood) with Pastors Mark Ballard and Sam Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Englewood. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Englewood).
