I have auto updates off so it won't nerf my stuff. If an update comes out, I play offline until I know what nerfs happen. Then if my stuff is OK I update. Otherwise I stay offline until I find a different build etc. This way I can experience said weapon in its original "the way its supposed to be" form, longer than everyone else. I know its unorthodox but it fulfills my enjoyment requirements.

@@SilvaFox its still gonna update though. Yoy gotta set the updates for a time when you know youre gonna be sleeping. I would recommend you downloading the cracked version to be sure. Thats what i do even though i have the dlc on my steam

Bro the Messmer Helmet is also good for boosting both the incantations (fire serpent and mesmer orb) and fire knight armor boosts incantations as well (Although I'm running raksasha set - minus helmet for mesmer helmet) I've done some math and honestly it'll depend on how much you spam incants

65-80 Faith and Flame Art affinity actually scales better on that weapon, plus you are able to use Messmer incantations

Yoo this is what im debating!! I don't know how it scales with flame art. I was thinking going strength at 55 and putting the rest on faith but I'm also thinking going 60+ faith and meeting weapon requirement instead with flame affinity for faith scaling and incants.

theres a oil tear for the flask. its amazing to close combat build that deal fire dmg. ben using a FTH Flame Dryleaf with Braggarths Roar WA + Raptors armor and is amazing

Nice!!! :D I was full arc build with duel katanas but I switched to my previous build, faith/str. Blasphemous Blade and cold iron greatsword.
60 is the stat limit, any higher will decrease the points a lot.

Great video. Strength/faith builds have always been my favorite. Couple hints for a build like this. Running bestial vitality will offset the effects of your physik, making things more comfortable. At 54 strength, when two handing your weapons, you hit the soft cap on strength due to the two hand bonus.
For our faith friends, this build can also work with a flame art infusion, 60 Faith, and minimum stats to wield the weapon. Allowing you to focus on your enchantments 👍@hodeichapinaladame4844วันที่ผ่านมา +2
Also the black steel twinblade has a similar passive, but instead of fire imbuement, with a holy one. They deal very good damage :)

This is kinda right up my alley, I'm playing as a Fire Knight but I sometimes switch to cold/lightning or more blood so I'm a bit invested in arcane as well- my stats are kinda spread out. I'm powerstancing the Claymore RH and Flamberge LH. I usually run fire but I switch to cold/lightning depending on the enemies I'll be encountering, like rallana- it was the cold proc that won me that battle after 5 or 6 tries with my standard fire build (She's weak to cold). Even for the DLC this build feels extremely powerful and while enemies are generally harder than the base game it still feels like easy mode. It's mostly a jump attack build but with the added faith I can use a lot of useful spells/buffs as well. This video has helped me quite a bit with perfecting the build- it'll be nice once I can switch out the dragoncrest great shield for something else since defense is so important in the DLC, I'm almost there! I think I'm at level 140-150, though I'm not sure without booting the game up. I'm loving the DLC so far!

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but if you use a heavy attack right out of Flame Skewer it throws more fire from your hands. Great video, gonna use this build in DLC NG+3

Vigors second soft cap is 60. You get something like 3-6 HP per point after 60. Basically 6 wasted levels.

@kaetha1 hard cap is 99. It has two soft caps. Starting around 20 and stopping at 40 is soft cap one, highest health per point, up to about 55-60. Soft cap two ends at 60, where you get down to about 25 hp per point and then from 60 onwards you get about 3 HP.

I feel like a good ideia build would be messmer's spear. no one has done it yet and i feel like ppl love messmer's spear and incantation, since its super flashy. Also its a new type of weapon since you can throw it and, again, not only no one did a messmer spear build, but also no one did a throwable weapon build. Feel like it would be a good ideia.

For mesmer's spear it's pretty much the same build but substitute the str for dex and maybe go more into faith for more fire damage.
Also for throwing weapons, most are meh, though you'd probably run a str build with the smithcript shield + axe or smithscript shield + spear (Shield ash of war is spammable w/fp regen talisman since it costs 3, and weapon is for big hits)@dmen05632 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@dmen0563 yea, imo the thrown weapon are kind of whatever. In PvP Smithscript Axe + Shield is pretty interesting, since you can jump attack to throw the axe and use shield throw in neutral. But PvE wise closest I've seen to "Viable" thrown weapon is the smithscript daggers w/magic infusion and 80 int and even then it's meh, I just use it as an alternative to glintstone kris on my mage build

I've made a different build with Messmer's spear, changed the stats quite a bit and played around a few other incantations to make it feel different and also more fun to play. Really want to make a video on that one too, the weapon is great!

Probably worth mentioning that you can't put the heavy affinity on this weapon if you use either the Flame Skewer or the Flame Spear, your only options are standard or flame art

You get higher ar with fire than heavy. Heavy just let's you buff it with incantations or spells. If the ash of war is buffing the weapon you are better off using fire over heavy. Also you have more fire damage and fire damage can be buffed a lot

@@JubWherethat’s fair, but in comparison to previous games, it’s not that noticeable. Unless you are optimizing damage to the decimal, youll generally do more damage with fire that I noticed. Plus Flame, Grant Me Strength and Flame cracked tear will be a great boost. Plus with flame skewer, you can have a natural buff instead of grease

What have I learned fighting against this setup: 1.) Respect the combo 2.) Only Neutral 2 hit R1 are the only thing that does true combo 3.) if your pvp opponent buffs, keep away that's a two hit setup at Vig

Yeah it's more oriented for PVE but the weapon is massive in PVP actually. 2 R1s are a true combo, which the Fire Knight Greatsword is the only colossal sword that can do that!

most of the damage was physical so I just put on the Cragblade ash of war and stun locked him to death. I was able to stagger him 3 or 4 times so it was actually pretty easy

Use chilling mist ash for PVE so that you can reset frostbite with the fire damage. For pvp it has r1r1 true combo. One of the stronger weapons in dlc for sure.

@@Matenkai I was using a pure strength build so I just went heavy. If the attack from the ash hits it normally procs frostbite. If not, then the buffed weapon still does frostbite build up.

There are much more broken items in the DLC than FKGS. At least FROM should take care of perfume bottles and bloodfiend's arm before touching this.

I dont even care I don't ever gravitate to broken meta items I am just saying objectively it will likely be brought in line. currently it already has a higher hit stun value than intended on the lights so it will be fixed for that for certain in pvp. Can't imagine when they tune that the tremendous AR discrepancy wont be adjusted
