During this “Home of Governance Talk”, our speakers engaged in a discussion on company culture & DEI led by Nicolas Coomans, Research Associate at GUBERNA. Over the past decade, the expectations placed on companies regarding their company culture, leadership style, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy have notably increased. The discussion shed light on key responsibilities of the board in this respect:✔️Promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in companies starts with setting the right values & culture. The board should set the tone at the top.✔️Companies are faced with increasing regulatory requirements on DEI. It is a key task of the board to monitor compliance.✔️The board should asses the strategic importance of DEI for the company. Accordingly, it should set objectives and monitor progress through adequate KPIs.
