I don't remember much of this place but I have been thinking about it for a while and decided to write a review. This was by far the most nostalgic memory I have as a kid because it has that weird aesthetic unlocked memory feel you know? I now remember it much better thanks to images from the past. This is probably now the saddest place to go if you remember it in it's prime time. Now it's a ghost town. I hope that we can get something like this back in the future due to the heavy influence of nostalgia on the consumer market today. I hope I have some place like this I can take my future kids to in the future and hopefully get to finally try that indoor go kart track out 🤣

Chaz S — Google review

Update: as soon as I posted this, I noticed the review below mine from 4 months ago described that this place was abandoned even back then.I suggested an edit to google to change the decription for this Outlet Mall as permanently closed.Original post:I arrived, and this building was abandoned except for cabelas and an ice rink that did have a few cars around the area labeled "practice," but I question whether the "skatepark" / go kart area was still in business as some colorful decorations were up, but the front entrance looked abandoned, and there were no cars. All the stores were empty, without signs, and 90% of this building looked like a ghost town.

Jenna D — Google review

Dead mall. Everything is closed except for Cabelas and ice rink.

Jacek — Google review

I've never been to a mall that was as empty as this. The storefronts to lack of Christmas shoppers really bummed me out. It actually made me think of Dawn of the Dead or the video game Dead Rising. Place was an empty apocalyptic nightmare waiting to happen.

Babe R — Google review

My son said the ice was good, but some locker rooms were small and his team was split into 2... he said the abandoned mall was creepy

Mary R — Google review

There's nothing here. If you specifically skate or play hockey...or need to specifically visit one of the 5 remaining stores, then it is worth your time. Otherwise it's walking exercise in ghost town.

Truly mesmerizing, the information and display of these presentations are stunning, I love tinkering understanding how things work, how there built and how they operate! The experience center is not just a museum of some sort it is a hands-on learning exhibit about the modern day industry of automobiles and how united, we all can create quality in our lives!

Devan W — Google review

Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indiana (TMMI) is where Toyota products including Sienna minivans, Highlanders, and Sequoias are manufactured. At the Visitor's Center, you are able to interact with Toyota team members to learn about the history of Toyota and the process of manufacturing the aforementioned vehicles. After watching a brief film in the Visitor theater, you will embark on a factory wide tour of the East facility. You will see different aspects of the process including body weld where you will observe one of the largest robots in North America work their magic. Next you will see different lines of assembly spanning from engine and drivetrain placement to applying Toyota brand emblems. The tours are highly informational and catered to help the Visitor's understand what they are seeing as the tram rolls by. It's a genuinely great experience. Toyota team members from the Visitor's Center to the production line are friendly and welcoming, so don't forget to wave back to the line as they take a moment to wave and smile in between placing various parts onto the vehicles! This is a great experience and best of all, it is 100% free! I highly recommend anyone interested to call the Visitor's Center and schedule your own tour today!

Todd W — Google review

Worth the trip to stop and see! The tour is not long but also doesn't feel "rushed". A very worthwhile experience. The staff here is very friendly and professional.Spend some time in the lobby and see all the exhibits, etc.

Roger Y — Google review

Loved going. Great place to tour. Wish they would slow down on the tour.

Cole K — Google review

Awesome place for a tour of the Toyota plant. Lots of things to look at and the history of Toyota.

Dustin S — Google review

Probably one of the best tours I've been on! It was so cool to see the factory like this. I didn't expect it to be as cool or as in-depth as it was!

Skylar L — Google review

Really enjoyed the tour and info center! Well worth the trip!

Jean B — Google review

This has been a great experience. It gives lots of information about the whole process of making a Toyota vehicle as well as a great tour of the plant. It takes you through the process of welding the vehicles together, painting them, and assembling them.

Beautiful! I got married October 28th here, and although it was raining for most of the day, it stopped for the ceremony! Rain or shine -- it's always beautiful!

Marilyn C — Google review

Go to New Harmony at all costs... if you like strange airy places lost in the middle of nowhere in another time. I was there in May, 2015 with the zillions of cicadas doing their noisy noise ;-) In between the Roofless church, Richard Meier's all-white Atheneun museum, the abandoned bridge, the library full of paraphaernalia, Robert Owens' small settlers houses, the quaint main street and some more structures right out of a Hopper painting, that's a cool place they should use for movies (maybe a Stephen King). Quite magic!

Alain R — Google review

Beautiful, stunning, spiritual, one of a kind... A MUST see!! The entry gates themselves, are gorgeous, as is the entire church!! Plenty of room to hold a wedding, an event, etc. There is just something special about this place to me... Just standing inside, I feel at peace 💗

T. S — Google review

Really cool place! Very unique and distinct, and unlike anything else in Indiana or the Midwest.

Adam R — Google review

New Harmony is an odd place with a very strange origin story. Tucked away within the town is this very unique and beautiful church.

Lexi J — Google review

A unique concept for a church. There's a roof over the altar but everything else is open air . A very peaceful place in the charming town of New Harmony.

Gary K — Google review

It was so beautiful and peaceful Definitely a comeback too spot and recommended for anybuddy what children are without them!!!!

Great tour with Heidi! She taught us the history of the area, and conveying the beliefs of the past, that are reflected in the future of New Harmony.

Everywhere you look, beautifully kept homes and storefronts. Art galleries and handcrafted, quality shopping. Golf cart rental to wander easily around town is a bonus!

Lisa C — Google review

Great place to start learning about the history of New Harmony. It is here that you start the tour of the town that includes several key sites that include seeing the interior of the old granary and a couple of residential houses of the original settlement. This is a highly recommended place to visit for anyone with an interest in Southern Indiana history.

Brian H — Google review

The town has great charm. The locals are friendly and knowledgeable. It's quiet and quaint. Most shops were closed when we went, therefore, I gave it a 4⭐.

Bob M — Google review

Took tour with randy. He did excellent job. Knew a lot about New Harmony. Heidi also very helpful. Thank you making my visit an awesome one!

Tina D — Google review

Beautiful architecture! This is where the tours start at. You can also rent golf carts here. Huge parking lot.

Jennilyn B — Google review

The history of this once utopian society is incredible. There are so many cool buildings to wander through and an outdoor church and labyrinth that can't be passed up. This town has a peculiar allure about it. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the place and answer any questions you may have about it. They have a delectable Yellow Tavern that serves the tastiest food I've had in some time. It had a "Grandma's Cooking" type taste and boy did it satisfy my hunger. I recommend planning on being there for an entire day to see the whole place. There is so much wonder here. I can't wait to go back!

Kiesha W — Google review

Even though I was the only visitor there the rainy afternoon of 8/13/2020, I was shown the 11-minute video of the history of the town, and received my own personal tour/explanation after the video by the friendly and knowledgeable gentleman working there that day.

Cayna J — Google review

The guides were very inviting and knowledgeable! Beautiful facility with so much history!

Lily U — Google review

Interesting piece of architecture by Richard Meier. The site really allows you to appreciate the building as an object. It’s a great contrast to the historic village. That’s what, I believe, makes it work. But the building is not one that is maintenance free, or even low maintenance. The whole thing needs to be power washed after they fix the leaks and repair the damaged interior finishes. Still, worth stopping at to see if one is anywhere near the area.

Glenn G — Google review

Such a fun building and tour. The tour is listed as a walking tour but it's actually a trolly ride!

Love this park. The white squirrels are so cool and my dog loved all the smells. He didn’t want to leave. Even better, all the other dogs were on leash and I saw ZERO dog poop left behind. That’s like finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn when it comes to parks.

Was passing through to go home. Saw they had their drive through Christmas lights. Excellent festival of lights. They did an amazing job. Is set up for donations at the end. Definitely recommend driving through. There is even a radio station to set up to have Christmas music for the festival. A section of the lights goes in sync with the music.

Laura S — Google review

Went to the Christmas light experience and was the best we've seen in East Central Illinois!! It was a great time and something for everybody!

Lannette K — Google review

There is a new walking path built that I love! It's in a very shaded part of the park so walks are enjoyable.

Judy A — Google review

The entire town is wonderful and one of the best places about it is city park. During the Christmas season you can see they're very extensive light display which is really worth the trip. In the gazebo area if you tune your radio to the correct channel you can hear 30 to 40 minutes of music correlated with lights. Then if you come back in the morning you can of course see the white squirrels. They're not around all the time so make sure you know a bit about wildlife so you won't be disappointed. Come in the morning or the late afternoon on days that are not too hot. These white squirrels are true albinoes and well worth the trip.

A Classic Municipal Park and Fairgrounds. Olney and Richland County hold several events here each year, check out the Events Calendar on the City of Olney website or contact the Chamber of Commerce for more details...and even though there may not be anything scheduled, just drop by and try your luck at spotting a White Albino Squirrel or two. There is a Playground for the kids and it's a nice shady place for a summer picnic or just a quiet walk either by yourself or with a companion...... don't forget to visit in late July during the Richland County Fair. This year (2023) the Bierman Farms Food Truck came in with Nachos that were Out of This World... More than Enough for a Meal and Plentiful enough to Share with Friends...Bruno Biava ⚓

M R — Google review

A great picnic stop for travelers. The playground is huge, and the tables are shady. And look for the white squirrel! At Christmas, they have a great Christmas light display. Kids love it. And I believe it is free.

Joe R — Google review

Luckily drive by and see the beautiful Christmas Lights and movie images. Driving through was a great visual delight for me. Thanks.

We always enjoy camping around Rend Lake

Tonya T — Google review

We Have been coming here multiple times a year. And love the campground. But this past weekend the park ranger named Jerry has ruined this place for us. My 10 year old daughter was riding her small scooter around the loop we were staying in. And the park ranger named Jerry stopped her to tell her she wasn’t allowed to ride her scooter in the campground because it didn’t have pedals like a bicycle. An old man, stopped my daughter to harass her about a scooter!!! And mortified her. Made her cry. Now she doesn’t think she’s allowed to ride it anymore. We witnessed him stopping at almost every camp site upsetting guests and harassing them about silly things. Completely unprofessional and rude. When I confronted him about the situation he immediately told me maybe we need to find a different place to camp.

Nathan C — Google review

beautiful clean and a very friendly attendant!! awesome place to visit!! we stayed in #56 plenty of room for a big rig too!

Zaida F — Google review

Very good spot. Nice and quiet. Depending on your view, cell service was on low end so no access or very slow if trying to connect to internet.

Jerry H — Google review

1st camping experience and i don't think it could have been much better! SUPER clean, and well kept. Grass was freshly mowed. Showers/bathrooms were nearby and clean. We had a walkout tent site that was ~150' to our vehicle. There is plenty to do here: Kayaking, swimming in certain places, bike paths, mountain bike trails, hiking, archery range, etc. Plenty of tall mature trees to keep the sun off. Around 10pm it was nice and quiet with beautiful skies. Couple of small towns nearby for supply runs and visiting. We are already planning our next visit here. Very family and pet friendly place.

Bald E — Google review

4 5 stars - downgraded because the bathroom sinks have cold water that is difficult to dispense by pushing an antiquated stuff button and when you do get some water it goes splat and stops in about a second ~ and I really think campgrounds shouldn't consider bathroom soap optional! But otherwise - beautiful, well spaced sites, green open spaces, nature mowed back just enough and effort made to protect nature all around ~ an abundance of deer too, take care driving

Kristine K — Google review

Beautiful COE campground. Nice paved roads and concrete pads. Our site #121 was long and level.

Kathy D — Google review

This is our second time staying at this campground and we love it. Its clean, well maintained, and quiet (this weekend). We love that the beach is an easy 15ish min drive. The bike trails were great and well maintained. It is hilly which can make pulling a camper a bit difficult and not all the spaces are level; making set up difficult. Over all we like this campground.

Sylvia M — Google review

We stayed in Owls Roost. We have a 36 foot 5th wheel. The asphalt is just wide enough for the camper. Site 16 in angled uphill and we were scraping our rear leveler on the asphalt trying to back in. A retired semi driver gave directions by driving on the grass or we would have left. Thankfully our site had an extra concrete pad for our steps but not all the sites did. The pad was long enough for the camper, truck and our Chevy Trax. Plenty of shade in the campground from mature trees. The bike trail is a fun ride.

The Camping Is Awesome. The Camp Host was very pleasant and help it feel like home. Bathrooms and Showers are clean, and well maintained. the camp site my brother and I like best is on Shady Rest Loop Site #191 (stay out) lol. Hey Brotherman Chris.

This campground is quite beautiful. The spots are large, and near water. The bathrooms are clean and stocked. Parking available, including handicapped parking. Dump spot and dumpsters are easy to locate and access. We recently came here for the trick-or-treating night. Oh my word it was fantastic!!! The majority of people take it seriously, the decorations is next level! There was a bouncy house, hot dogs and trick or treating all free! A food truck was available for purchase. Kids and people of all ages LOVE it!!!!! This is a yearly event you don't want to miss!

Staci S — Google review

Only stayed there one night, in a stop over, heading home from a 2 week vacation in TN and NC. It was a beautiful spot with a very nice walking trail through the park. Camp Host and her secretary were super nice 🙂🐕Would stay here again.

Annie B — Google review

Stayed in reserved area. No full hookups, which is ok except there is only 1 dump station. The shower house closest to us was old and in need of repair ( missing nozzles ) However, the shower house next to the playground was decent. Huge lots!

Leann O — Google review

So much wildlife! Even in winter. Enjoyed the trail. Saw two different type of pheasants.

Sean H — Google review

Beautiful state park. Very well maintained grass areas with brush cut back and trails very visible. Campsite on BY area were very large. They only have electric at sites. There is water at the pump station as you come in. Reservation center was great. Only problem I had was no one at park would call me back. Park your camper 1st then check in. There is an office on side road that has NO turn around area for 35 ft camper and truck. No o e was in office when we got there but a guy told us just to go to our site.

Catherine M — Google review

Nice view. Didn't have a reservation but found great spots available. Showers were a bit dated. Large campsites!

Will H — Google review

I love this campground! I wish they'd keep it cleaner like clean bathrooms/showers and clean up trash by the dumpster also check playground equipment because some stuff is broken and there's weeds all in the playground. They could mow more out by the water/rocks better. We love walking out there to watch sunset over the water! We'll definitely come back 😀

Theresa Z — Google review

Just solo camped here in the Bay Loop while I was on a noodling trip on Rend Lake! Great campground. Ample toilets, showers and pit toilets. Lots of sites right on the lake. Some playgrounds and a bike/walking path. Each site has a picnic table and nice raised fire pit that has a grate. Very nice boat launch and docks. Was pretty quiet and peaceful when I went and camped. Will stay again.Cons: Does not sell firewood. Other local campgrounds do that you can go and purchase from.

Em A — Google review

We had a great visit at Wayne Fitzgerald State Park. The campsites are huge compared to other campgrounds in the area. Our host was fantastic and resolved a problem where a new arrival stole our reserved campsite. We were camping with a motorhome and needed to go into town. The interlopers took our reservation form off the clip board and parked in our spot. They also ignored the fact that we left our camp chairs with bundles of firewood. The host checked his records and confirmed that we had paid for 10 days, then went down to talk to these people. The interlopers claimed that that it looked like our reservation expired and pulled the receipt from the post. The host knew this wasn’t true, because he regularly checks the posts everyday and takes down any expired receipts before new arrivals check in. The interlopers left without any fuss after talking to our host. Not all campgrounds are run this well. This is a beautiful natural area with lots of wild life.

Thomas D — Google review

What a beautiful, big park! The staff is super friendly, too! Loved our campground host! We did primitive camping here mid October, and it was just wonderful. It may have been 33 degrees and almost freezing in the tent, but the location and experience outweighed this! Lol. The primitive spots are located right along the water, surrounded by large trees. I even got to use my kayak in the water here. The sky was so pretty at night! We could use our telescope camera to see the moon clearly. This was my first time in Illinois. What a beautiful state!

Morgan G — Google review

We loved our stay here. This is a beautiful park. We will be back with our bicycles. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Can't report on the bath house since I never went in it. My mother in law said they were clean.

Beautiful artwork. Enjoyed this hidden gem hidden in Mt Vernon Illinois. The main gallery costs $5, but it is well worth the admission price. They also have a book of their collection available for $25. I purchased one and am enjoying the enriching additional information. They also have a walking path you can take to see many beautiful sculptures on your tour through the grounds with additional exhibits located in other buildings. Due to time constraints and my sister being in a wheelchair, we were limited to how much we could explore, but still enjoyed much they had to offer and enjoyed talking with museum staff about the history of the museum and their collection. I would highly recommend this activity for anyone who likes nature and art in general.

We attended the watch party for the 2024 eclipse at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, and it was an amazing experience! We drove from out of state and were so impressed by their beautiful grounds and helpful staff/volunteers. We were expecting big crowds, and even though we heard that they had sold 1500 tickets, since they have so much beautiful outdoor space, we had a very peaceful experience with very few people near us. Although we didn't get to spend much time enjoying their facility (since we were focused on the eclipse), their indoor space was also very nice, and amazingly enough, I didn't even have to wait to use their restrooms, which were clean and very nice. We enjoyed some of the outdoor sculptures and would love to visit again if we are ever back in the area. We are just so grateful to Cedarhurst for hosting such a great event!

Terry P — Google review

This is one of the most interesting places I've ever visited. There is no admission fee on Thursday's, and the rest of the week it only costs $5. If you have the chance, go check out the outdoor sculptures. They are truly amazing!

We were traveling through and planned to stop. I had hope to be able to see more of the outdoor sculptures but being in a wheelchair they weren't easy to get close to. Most of the paths weren't paved. I did enjoy what I could see and the museum was very nice. I would like to visit again when in the area.

Christina V — Google review

We attended an art fair here. We enjoyed ourselves, but everything was high end retail and we weren't expecting that. The property looked beautiful and I would love to go back and just walk around. If you hunt Pokemon this spot is loaded with Pokestops!!

Sherie L — Google review

It was nice to get around on the paths through the Center. Using a mobility scooter, I was able to navigate the paths including the pea sized gravel paths with my low clearance scooter. Many of the sculptures were far from the path but I had my binoculars with me for bird watching and could use them to see the sculptures better.I did not visit the museum.

Mara F — Google review

I always enjoy visiting Cedarhurst! I did not enter the museum today as I wanted to explore outside instead. I noticed recent updates to the grounds on this visit. The nature trails are no longer plain dirt, gravel has been added to the paths and other improvements such as labeled path markers. They’ve definitely stepped up their outdoor game. The lovely pond is pretty anytime of year, but it’s especially nice in the warmer weather when the fountain is flowing.

Crohn’s_Bites — Google review

We went for the Christmas Light walk. It was excellent. About a mile walk in length with volunteers to help shepherd you in the proper direction. I can't believe it was only their 2nd year doing it. A+++ All around. Drinks for adults and kids alike. Lots of kid crafts are available also. We will be going back again for sure next year.

Bret S — Google review

It's a great place to take your kids, the dog, or just go for a walk yourself around the park sculptures outside. They've got great courses and activities for kids and family. And many very good art exhibitions.

This is the best sailing association in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. CSA has several loaner boats and instructors for beginners. The club fees are very low. The club has the only youth sailing education program in the area. On site camping for members, bath house, training and meal building. Ask about summer youth camps.

Robert W — Google review

Like a time capsule, this is a place you won't find anywhere else. Anyone can join, with or without a boat. If you have a boat, you store mast up on the dry to be in the water fast. Sailing lessons, rental sailboats, low-priced memberships are available to anyone. The club is huge, actually, with mostly green areas, lots of shade trees, very pretty. People are very helpful to show you around and help you figure out how to get into sailing.

TheBerliner — Google review

This is a great sailing club. It is a friendly group of racers and day sailers. Local storage available during the season. Larger boats store off site during off season. They have a youth camp and weekend classes for kids.

Robert W — Google review

This is a great family-oriented place. This is no pretentions sailing. Great youth program. Very inexpensive seasonal boat storage. Great racing community - people share how to sail better.

This is a beautiful spot. So many great people that all love sailing.

Linda taught us to sail! It was a great experience and we'll be members again in 2022! Thank you, Linda!

Laci P — Google review

Just had a short visit, seems like a friendly place, Bob, the harbor master took us on a short tour around the club area. He was very informative and made us feel welcome.

Bruce K — Google review

Harbor master could be friendlier. Good lake to sail at, CSA has a day rate to allow use of the facilities and there is camping nearby at Hazlet State Park.

Jason D — Google review

Great bunch of welcoming people. I decided last year I wanted to learn to sail and they were so helpful, now I'm a member!

Adam M — Google review

This is a premier sailing club with competitive fleets and lots of opportunities for new sailors too! The club facilities are top notch and the racing is as good as it gets!

Several years ago, Lake Carlyle was ranked one of the top five sailing lakes in the United States. It is. And CSA is the best place for sailing

Monthly Camping in smaller “Coneflower” lot is $500/mo. Pick an empty spot and the campground host will eventually come find you (host is set up further into the RV spots in the south Loop). Don’t bother calling or trying to book monthly online it wont work.Great water pressure, sewer and electric hook ups with no issues. Not glamorous, but a good spot to be while working at the coal plants.

Nicole M — Google review

Camped here to wat h the eclipse. Have been here for trap shooting events also. Campsites are large and easy access. Full hookups at all sites. Level sites. Not a lot of trees. campground is clean, bathrooms clean. For what we wanted, very nice.

Booked my wedding here under the previous management. Was never informed of the changes and that should've been my hint to find a new venue. Even at our first meeting with the new people I did not feel reassured that things would continue as we had planned.Management was horrible with communication and would answer when they felt like it. Felt like my wedding was an inconvenience in their schedules not something they wanted to do or took pride in doing.Day of the floors were not cleaned, after being told they would be for the past 3 days. The lighted backdrop we paid extra for was not finished like they said it would be the day before, but was completed by 3 the day of my wedding that started at 4pm. And even then it was not fully lighted.Dinner was set to be served at 6ish no serving utensils were there. Dinner was just okay cold for several of our guests.Just a very poorly ran venue that would be great if they made it their focus. I hope for whoever books the venue next they are prepared to do everything yourself and have to be the ones who make sure things are done right.

Attended the facility for the marriage & reception at the Event Center. This place is beautiful and the food was acceptable. Plus have a new daughter in law. Great!

Dean R — Google review

We enjoy camping here. We were just here last week after the Grand. There was a great big dumpster for the north and south loops to use during the Grand. That has been removed, and the normal dumpsters for this area has not been put back in again. We used the monthly dumpster and also took our trash home with us when we left. Hopefully, this will be corrected before Labor day weekend and the Halloween weekends in October.

Cheri G — Google review

Great facility! We loved visiting multiple times for The Grand American Trapshooting Event. So many great companies all in one place. Easy to navigate and the grounds are well kept. Lots to do even if you're not participating in shooting. The food was good at the main building and the staff is all friendly!

Amanda — Google review

Great shooting location. Clearly, they have left routine maintenance fall behind, evidenced by rotting and falling signs all over the grounds. No investment yet on planting shade trees, which would be a great addition to a location often in the 90's during the summer. Still an awesome site to see a row of trap machines extending far beyond what the naked eye can see!

Jill N — Google review

To fun sporting clays courses along with an amazing amount of trap and skeet fields. The lady behind the counter was extremely helpful. Thanks

Dean B — Google review

Great amenities, friendly staff. Sporting clay north was difficult and fun. Easily walkable.

Nathan H — Google review

Great place if you are interested in shotgun sports, camping or fishing

Gary B — Google review

The WSRC is a wonderful outdoor experience. I'm removing one star from my first review because of the decay that is taking place as the facility ages. Many of the wood signs along Cardinal Road are rotting and falling off of the post. Cardinal Road itself is breaking up and the repair is just oil and chips. (This section of the road has been repaired and other much needed road maintenance is under way. There has also been a much needed improvement to the UTV trails behind the trap line using oil and chips. Much less dust and no mud. 8/2019)Honeysuckle bush (an invasive species) along with thorn trees and weeds are taking over the fields. No sign of reforestation with native trees or grasses. It's still a wonderful facility, but given it's present rate of decline, won't be for long. Hopefully the IDNR will give the facility more of the attention it deserves soon.

The Lory Theater is an old-fashioned local cinema featuring two screens, which has been in operation since the early days of movies. The theater originally served as a vaudeville playhouse and still retains some of its vintage charm. It is particularly known for its delicious popcorn, although some patrons have suggested that the seats could be more comfortable. Despite this minor issue, everyone who visits The Lory Theater will feel welcomed by the friendly atmosphere.

My friends and I have seen every Marvel movie here since I can remember. Best popcorn around. Only complaint I have is the seats could be a little more comfy. But that hasn't ever stopped me from going. Extremely welcoming vibes here also!

Brayden W — Google review

Great atmosphere polite staff, and prices are so reasonable. Popcorn has a movie butter taste. Sharing this theater with the people who brought this back to the community is a great privilege. Enjoy the Lory Theater

Janice — Google review

Small but wonderful. Two theaters. Upstairs and floor level, the upstairs is smaller than the floor level. Great popcorn and food. You can even purchase a bag of popcorn if you'd like! Definitely recommend if you're in town.

Aubrey D — Google review

Really nice theater with great prices. The theater was clean and the sound for the movie was really good. We enjoyed our experience very much. We do not attend movies very often, but hope to attend more at this location.

Mike K — Google review

The Lory is my favorite theater and our first choice when we want to see a movie. Their prices and free refills can't be beat! The local commercials that play before the movie and the whole theater singing the phone song makes me smile and feel a sense of community pride <3

Abbi H — Google review

My absolute favorite place to go watch movies. The staff is always friendly, the owner is outstanding, and if you've ever gone on opening night, you know how much fun they can make it. They bring the movie watching experience to a new level. Plus, it's one of the most affordable places you can go in the area.

Stephanie C — Google review

What a great theater. Reminds me of going to the movies when I was a kid. The best part is I get to share it with my kids now and they love it too.

Always a joy to watch great movies with that popular movie popcorn with family and friends. Staff is friendly and Justin always comes up with different themes for "The Phone Song" that coincide with the show. Will be going again and again!

Such a fun movie experience! Small, friendly, and very affordable.

Katie B — Google review

The Lory theater is the only movie theater I care to go to.The staff is always friendly. The popcorn, snacks, and soda is always great. And the movie tickets are always so cheap! You will pay less than half of what you would at a bigger theater and get ten times the experience!Honestly the Lory doesn't feel like a commercial movie theater, it feels like a movie theater in your own home because it's just that comfortable.I hope that everyone reading this review gets a chance to see another movie at the Lory because it is such a great place and captures everything that a small business should be, it really is like no other.-Thomas Feldman

A hidden gem in Mid America. Staff friendly and helpful. A great place to take children during harvest. Tractor rides out to the fruit fields and pumpkin patch. Lots of things to buy. A definite must see if you're in the area.

Debra P — Google review

Braeutigam Orchards is a fun, large family-owned business just outside of Belleville. Both times I've visited (in the fall), the parking lot was full and lines were long, but moved quickly enough. There's lots to do at the orchard besides picking your own produce- petting zoo, a small shop in a barn where you pay for your produce, a little shop for baked goods, and several animal stalls. This is the perfect place to bring family and get your fall decorations.

Kelsey S — Google review

Such a cute family farm and if your kiddos are little than it is definitely perfect. They have a pet farm,a playground, food and drinks

Heather S — Google review

We especially love the apple cider slushies and the apple cider donuts, but all of their baked goods look delicious. You don't have to pay to pick pumpkins like at some other orchards. Parking is ample and close. Nice place to visit.

Kerry W — Google review

Our favorite "you pick" in the area. It's owned by a wonderful family of 8+ generations and just about the nicest people you'd meet. It's a real family farm that still feels like a real family farm, not a corporate farm-like amusem*nt area.Catch a ride on the tractor-pulled wagon out to the fields, pick all you want, then ride back to the barn to pay.Their apples are amazing and Pumpkin Fest is a huge event every year. And don't forget to pick up apple cider donuts on the way out! 😉

Brandon B — Google review

This is an awesome, family-owned orchard. They have a variety of fruits and vegetables available for pick-your-own throughout the summer and fall as well as others available for purchase. The experience is fun and the employees are friendly. They gave us free samples of the apple cider donut (It was Delicious!) And the apple cider slush was very good.

Abigail E — Google review

Such a fun, country place with a great play yard for kids; nice, country store where you can buy apples (or go pick your own), apple-y goods, pumpkins or other treats, a café, and lots of animals to look at! The staff were all very nice, and best of all it's free to get into and do everything! You only pay for the apples or other goods you take home with you!

Sarah G — Google review

Great place to take the kids and family! Very friendly staff. They have everything to pick from apples and pumpkins to tomatoes and peppers. Great quality. Love that they have goats, chickens, and turkeys you can feed. The kids loved the giant playground. Definitely a hidden gem.

Michael S — Google review

This place is a gem! Better than any ‘big name’ pumpkin patch or apple orchard. The staff are incredibly friendly and there are so many FREE activities for little ones to do. Apple cider slushees are a must-try! They don’t charge you to go out in the fields/ride the tractor. Super family friendly and even the animals (goats, cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits) are sweet and friendly. We love Braeutigam Orchards!

Brittany W — Google review

We always have the best time out at braeutigams orchards!! Thank you for all you do for a wonderful farm experience for the kiddos!

Megan C — Google review

My family and I had a great time! We picked tomatoes, peppers, and apples and there was a great variety! We also visited all of the animals there. The kids loved seeing them up close. We also bought apple cider slushies! They were so good. We also took home some apple butter and BBQ sauce from their store. Their customer service was fantastic and we were so happy with our experience here.

Dawn C — Google review

Great place. Pick your own fruits and vegetables. We just picked about 20 pounds of apples for baking and eating. Had a few while we were picking. Juicy and crisp. Nice little store where they sell their own fresh baked items (donuts, pies, etc.); all done from scratch. Prices are reasonable, a little more per pound than the grocery store but far better flavor. Family owned and operated. Not too large or crowded on a Friday afternoon. Owner and employees are very friendly and personable.Oh, one more thing. The apple cider donuts are really good!

Michael C — Google review

Love this place. They have amazing pumpkins. They are so friendly, free place form kids to play, petting zoo. Delicious apple cider slushy.

J L — Google review

Great place to take the kids. The tractor rides are free and we were able to pick apples and pumpkins. They have a mini store and bakery. They also have a small playground for children. It was a great experience and we will be back!

Ashlee S — Google review

Such an incredible little farm! When we were there they had peaches and blackberries for picking. They also had other things for sale. It was beautifully tended. The people who helped us could not have been more friendly.

Rhonda S — Google review

We visited twice on field trips and had a wonderful time. The kids always have plenty to do and the animals and playground keep them occupied. They offer a wide variety of produce and the apple cider donuts were some of the best things I've ever tasted. Smaller than Eckert's down the road, but nicer family feel.

Restaurant

Fried chicken & other classic American comfort foods served family-style in a farmhouse setting.

Reservations recommended. We got 10 min late, but got seated fairly quickly. Kids choices are slightly limited but with sides and pretzels on the main menu, we made it work. Many strawberry options, as we were during strawberry season.

Serge S — Google review

The Country Restaurant is just one of many wonderful things Eckert's has to offer. My grandfather and father and myself all moved to St. Louis as young adults (3 separate moves that is) and all had a love for Eckert's that has been passed down and spread. I do not typically eat at the restaurant, but a group of friends caught their special brunch for a birthday celebration and the food was great. I am not sure if the brunch setup is year round or seasonal, but eating there for any meal/occasion is likely to be successful.

Kyle J — Google review

My friend and I stopped at Eckert's after an afternoon of holiday festivities. The food was good, the service was amazing, the prices were decent and the decor was holiday festive. Everything was wonderful!

Ellen D — Google review

We had a party of 7 hungry folks. We were provided a nice private dining room with plenty of space & great natural lighting. Our meals were well prepared & delicious. Dustin, our waiter, was exceptionally patient, attentive, thorough & professional.

T. G — Google review

Would have been a FIVE star review. The only negative was the LINER between the tray and the food. I get it, the liner is appropriate for the fried Chicken, fries, burgers and the like, but it is not appropriate for mashed potatoes, green beans and the country fried steak with gravy as it became saturated and it deteriorated. I would have preferred the meal be served on a plate minus any paper liner. I hope that management understands. All else, portion size, temperature, service and flavor was fine.

Daniel S — Google review

Food was very good. Fried chicken needed a little salt but the texture was perfect. Mimosas did not taste like they had any alcohol in them at all (literally just juice), but they get some points because the flavors in the cider flight had some bite and were both crisp and refreshing. Can’t complain about the service since we were the only ones there for a bit of time. Atmosphere was very relaxed and clean.

Shelbria K — Google review

Homey, popular country restaurant. We went on a Saturday in mid-October and were told the wait would be 35-40 minutes for a table. Thankfully we stuck around and it was more like 25 minutes. There weren't a lot of vegetarian options, but I enjoyed the opportunity to eat a couple appetizers and call it lunch! I had the fried okra and spicy breaded cauliflower, both of which are delicious. The cauliflower truly IS spicy--I think it's dipped in Buffalo sauce. My friend had the pulled pork mac & cheese and the onion petals. Our waitress was fantastic and our food came quickly. If you visit the Belleville farm, I recommend stopping by.

R C — Google review

Great brunch options, pretty good portions, fun family atmosphere. Pumpkin pancakes are very good.

Mark B — Google review

Bloody Mary’s were very spicy. Food was absolutely delicious!! Haven’t had breakfast that good in a long time. Very pleased with our recent visit. I would recommend for weekend brunch!

Alyssa K — Google review

Wonderful place to take the kids! Only suggestion from someone who is disabled, you need more benches! This picture taken from the only bench from the very top of the entrance by the trailer rides all the way to main entrance of the store/restaurant. There were plenty of empty spaces to add them along the fence and store walls. From someone middle aged walking with crutches, it just would have been more enjoyable being able to sit elsewhere. Then you have a lot of elderly that come that would probably like to sit while their companies can stroll the grounds & shop.

Gwenn B — Google review

First time eating at Eckert's restaurant. The potatoes were crispy and well-seasoned just how I like them to be. The pancakes were extremely dense. It took a lot of syrup to soak into them. Not really my preference when it comes to pancakes, which is the only reason the food received a 4 out of 5. The atmosphere was ok. Same for the service. Nothing really stood out or was lacking of that matter which is why I gave it a 4 out of 5 too.Overall, I will come back to try their lunch/dinner menu on a day other than a Sunday.

Danielle B — Google review

My first bite, I thought I had suddenly developed Covid and lost my sense of taste. But no, the food was just that bland. Love Eckert’s as a whole, but if you like flavor..this restaurant is not for you. Save yourself the money. Also, avoid if you’re a vegetarian/vegan.

Chelsea — Google review

We enjoyed a yummy breakfast in the restaurant before walking around the store and checking out the Christmas trees.

L G — Google review

Very cool setup and great service. The food was much better than I expected. I had strawberry shrimp tacos and I would say one of the best shrimp tacos I have had in Illinois. The menu items sound weird but everyone in my party loved what they ordered. Highly recommend.

Austin B — Google review

I've been in the STL are pretty much my whole life and never made it over to Eckert's, so I was very excited to visit in Oct during apple season. I had planned to meet a friend there on a Saturday and we made reservations for the restaurant (our main draw). As I was arriving I had to sit on the highway at a stop waiting for parking and that is when I began to realize it may be very crowded that day. I was right. Saturday was not a good choice to visit... Once I arrived and tried wandering around it was a bit rough. There were lots of people. Everywhere. You couldn't turn around without someone right on top of you... This was a bit much for me. There were signs pointing to a large event group that happened to be meeting right in the middle of all the attractions.I did get the chance to walk through the country store and it was pretty neat. I enjoyed the home decor and crafty items. I also ventured into the grocery store (they may be the same store, I was a bit confused). I was really impressed that there were so many Eckerts specialty items and they even had gift sets. There were quite a few things I thought of purchasing but the lines were 20+ people deep and I decided to pass :/ There is also an apple cider sample station in the middle of the grocery that I thought was awesome! My friend and I each tried a lil cup and it was delicious!!!Let's get to the restaurant. I'm very glad we made reservations. When we went to check in, they were quoting people 2+ hr long waits. As you all may know by now they no longer serve their legendary bread and apple butter. This is very sad. Our server took the time to let us know that they had to stop due to supplier inconsistency. I had already read about this online but my friend who comes here often hadn't. She was pretty irritated about it. She made a couple good points that resonated with me:1) this is the equivalent of TX Roadhouse not serving their rolls and butter or Red Lobster not having cheddar biscuits or Olive Garden not having breadstick. Ok, I understood that.2) They used this largely to advertise their made on site apple butter and we generate sales that way... so it may be time to think of another way to deliver the apple butter. Maybe simple bread or biscuits since the apple butter is really the star. That said I definitely felt bad for he wait staff as we could hear over and over again people asking about the bread and them having to explain it.Now, I really came here for fried chicken! So you know I ordered the 2 piece and requested a leg and wing is possible as those are my faves. It took a LONG TIME to get our food. Easily 30-40 minutes... I just thought they were frying the chicken fresh and my excitement was building. But then they brought me the 2 smallest pieces of chicken I've ever seen... together they didn't equal one normal piece of fried chicken... and my disappointment set in. When you look at my photos just know - that is a regular size scoop of mashed potatoes next to my chicken, not a large one. On that note - the potatoes were TASTY! I really enjoyed them and the chicken was fried perfectly, crispy and delicious. The green beans were plain like they just came out of a can, no seasoning. Overall this meal is not what I expected from all the other rave reviews....My friend ordered a pork power bowl and said it was good, not great. It was her first time having that item. She did really enjoy the lemonade they serve. We left right after eating because the crowds were just too much... I will say it looked like there was a lot of other awesome stuff to do, but all we saw were long lines and big crowds. I'd like to get back here on a weekday sometime and try the experience again.

You have got to go here! They have the best beers! Awesome Oktoberfest! We got a flight during the busy Oktoberfest on Friday around dinner time. The bartenders were extremely friendly, nice and engaging even though it was REALLY busy. There was a line a few times because of the festival and it was really fast. I loved the decor. They is a speakeasy door to a private venue you can rent that looks cool. I wish I lived closer to enjoy this treasure!

Michelle L — Google review

Really enjoyed our visit! Friends got a massive flight to share and had a blast tasting everything. As a non-beer drinker, I found a great selection of co*cktails (anything with a Stumpy's product is great!) and sodas to choose from. No food on site, but you're allowed to bring in outside food and the Smokehouse next door is fantastic. Will be back!

Erin W — Google review

One of the coolest little breweries I’ve ever visited. It’s full of German flavor. If everyone here wasn’t speaking English, you’d think you were in Germany! This is a great bar for the more mature crowd who values the flavor of what they’re drinking. If you like good beer you’ll love this place. If you love good bourbon you’ll be overwhelmed by the selection (I swear they have almost everything available to pour, even the rarest of stuff). In fact, they even have a cabinet full of interesting bourbons for sale at better prices than the liquor stores! Also, I felt that everything here was quite reasonable priced. Worth the drive from across the River in Missouri for sure.

Chris B — Google review

Great service and friendly staff! Always have a new rotation of beers on tap and their whiskey selection is in point. Recommend to finish on a weekend in Waterloo.

Lindsay M — Google review

Great little Microbrewery, had a few good beers with my favorite being the Blueberry Wheat. They also have flights of whisky, but they are like half shots

Mark T — Google review

1st time here and I need to come back more often. Beer and bourbon was so good. I totally enjoyed the afternoon here.

Rodney Y — Google review

Great selection of their own beers. Staff very friendly. Great selection of whiskey also. Bring your growlers!

D. B — Google review

Fabulous! I am a bourbon lover, and not only does this place offer an amazing bourbon selection, their beers are incredible. Excellent service, cold beer and fabulous setting!

Laura C — Google review

My girlfriend and I trekked here for our Valentine Day date. We were not disappointed. Fantastic set up. Day we came, they had taste testing for bourbon from a local distributor. The selection of beers were awesome. We both sampled a very large amount of the selection. My favorite was the darker chocolate, coconut cake made as a bourbon barrel beer. Simply delicious! My girlfriend loved her blueberry beer. There was a lot to take in, but the management was friendly and on it. Lots of locals and couples just traveling around to try out a new locale. Couple of notes: next door is an eatery called Shorty's Smokehouse. They work in collaboration with the Stubborn German Company. You can get some of their delicious platters and bring them over to the German to eat or vice versa with German's beer. I would recommend to anyone to hit this place and apparently they have a brew fest they do around October. We will be attending that this upcoming fall. Cannot wait. Really good vibe from the town and people seem pretty friendly.

Josh B — Google review

Once I found this place I knew we'd be here after dinner. I just didn't understand why they have to feed into my husband's stereotype that Germans are stubborn (or at least this German is stubborn 😂). It's really cool, kind of new & a lot of fun.A beer flight is six 4oz glasses filled with your pick of goodness, with a cost of $11.50 & when visiting be sure to pick up a can koozie. They even sell your favorites by the can. You can mix and match out of a cooler and make your own 4 pack for &16.00A few things to know - they don't serve any food but they do allow you to bring it in.So whether you grab a plate from the smokehouse next door or a wood fired pizza from around the corner, you can't go wrong. It's a great place to hang out and relax while enjoying a few beverages.

Shelley W — Google review

Excellent brewery with tons of tasty beer and a nice atmosphere! Bring in food from some of the neighboring restaurants and have an enjoyable evening. We couldn't decide what beers we wanted to try (too many good options), so we did their one of each flight (Def recommend you split it with someone as they are not kidding when they tell you that it's a lot of beer). You can also grab some of your favs to take with you.

E C — Google review

When I arrived, I walked right up to the bar and ordered my beer. I easily got a table. The tables are beautifully stained with high quality wood. the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's a wonderful place to come relax, visit and have a beer.koo.

Natalie S — Google review

Stubborn German has quickly become one of my favorite spots to go. Lovely space, lots of dark hard wood, and... oh - the beer is great! All the staff are friendly and kind and if you like bourbon... all the more reason to stop in.

A fun little stop if you are in the area. Great for photo ops for the gram. 😂 It's wonderfully kitschy and pure Americana. Definitely worth a visit if it's not out of your way.

Kimberly K — Google review

Roadside attraction. No convenient parking, but stopped at the liquidator and asked… they had no issues with me using their parking lot. (If you’re reading this… Thanks!). That said, the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street seemed to offer a better angle.

R. 2 — Google review

Review Date: June 1st, 2014Ask your friend’s what America’s favorite condiment is…and guess what they’ll say. There is a good chance that they will say catsup… or ketchup… or cheese… or horseradish. All good answers except for horseradish. So it’s only fitting that we have a rather large (world’s largest, one would say) catsup/ketchup bottle in America. While visiting a friend in Edwardsville, another friend and I decided to make a trip to Dizzy Dugout and while kind of driving around town, we saw this giant Catsup bottle in the air. So of course, we had to stop and check it out.The catsup bottle is kind of in a weird location. It’s randomly off to the side of the road, around a bend. It’s next to what seems to be an abandoned warehouse of sorts. Not really sure. But there is a decent amount of room to park, get out, take some photos and all that. At the base, there is a cake sculpture thing. Not sure how to describe it besides it looking like a cake with graphics on it. It can be seen in the photo album below.Technically called Brooks Catsup Bottle Water Tower, it is a water tower painted to look like a catsup bottle. Wonder how the local residents would feel if their faucets spewed out catsup one day instead of water. Overall, a nice little 10 minute stop if you are in Collinsville, IL.

Joshua D — Google review

You'd expect that there wouldn't be much to get excited about over a water tower, but it's a cool story and a blast from the past of simpler times. The alternative would have been a basic, mundane water tower cluttering the landscape.

Ted W — Google review

Ok seriously if you’re driving on I64 heading to St Louis you’ve got to stop and check this out. It is a classic roadside must see. It is so cool and yes a little hokey. If you love ketchup you have to see this and if you don’t like ketchup who cares it is a unique icon injustice off the highway. Treat yourself to a break from the highway and go see this up close. It’s something you’ll talk about to everyone.

Valerie B — Google review

Who knew there’s a water tower shaped as a catsup bottle. Gift shop located in town at Old Herald brewery and distillery so you can buy your World’s largest catsup bottle merch and grab a beer

Shaun S — Google review

While the bottle itself is kitschy and so cool, there should be somewhere to park and enjoy it. You can only really dive past it-off of a busy street.

Hannah E — Google review

It's hard to find a spot to park for photos. The angle of the bottle is set to the curve of the road, naturally. Still, it was a fun picture to have.

T. S — Google review

Another trophy to add to my collection of Superlatives, this is the World's Largest Catsup Bottle. It never contained actual catsup, instead it was built in 1949 as the water tower for the attached Brooks Foods plant. The plant is closed and no longer makes catsup but the advertisem*nt still stands. There is parking directly underneath and across the street. It's pretty darned cool.

Bruce K — Google review

I really like this largest in the world stuff! It’s a terrific huge catsup bottle water tower!

Aj S — Google review

Just a quick little roadside stop. There is a table under the bottle that would be great for a picnic meal, we stopped it was late in the day in July, so no eating for us. At the gas station on the same side of the road about a quarter mile down, we picked up ketchup and mustard Doritos.

Melynda L — Google review

Cool roadside attraction if you are in Collinsville, Illinois. Did you know that they have a fans club. Lots of fun taking pictures.

Anthony I — Google review

If you like the roadside stuff, this is fun to see. Park on the other side of the building to see it properly.

Not as many dealers as previous years, disappointing. Nice place to walk, shop or watch people. Need to add more benches and picnic tables. Food selection ok, mainly fair/carnival type food, lemon shakeups good.

Jason A — Google review

It was my first visit to the market. Many vendors had similar items. Prices ranged from high to low. Folk female singer entertained the crowd. There were two food vendors selling fish sandwiches to bratwursts, though I didn't venture for a meal. Heat was on, causing me to wear & tear sooner than usual. I brought a few toys for the grandchild & my buddy got a plant stand. Would venture maybe once more at the last schedule market in early fall, assume it will be more enjoyable and possibly more variety in goods and more food vendors.

If you're a fan of Route 66 the way my wife and I are, then this is a must visit place. Lots of historic things about Litchfield and Rt-66 that came thru here.

Kevin P — Google review

This museum hasn't been open that long, but it's such a gem. A Norwegian family drove up at the same time I did. I used their phone to take a picture of them. Believe only one spoke English but we were able to communicate just fine. A couple from England also toured. They do ask for donations, but no one twisted my arm. The guy behind the counter was very informative and walked around in the building answering questions, etc. There is on room dedicated to veterans from the area. The museum isn't so large that it's overwhelming. Just the right size to me. I did learn that Milnot, the canned milk was invented in Litchfield by a creamery there. Also Chili Man Chili was also invented by the same creamery. It's a must stop if you like history or anything to do with the Mother Road. Don't forget to walk across the street and eat at the Ariston Cafe. It's been open since 1924.

This is a cute little stop if you're making a trek along Route 66. The museum gives a comprehensive history of the town with some fun artifacts. You can tell the folks who run this museum are proud of their town's contributions to the history of Route 66. Definitely worth checking out if you need to stretch your legs on a long road trip.

Monument

Sights & Landmarks

The Gateway Arch is an iconic monument in St. Louis, Mo., commemorating the exploration and settlement of the American West. The arch was built in the early 60s and is a massive 630-foot-tall structure topped with a striking metal entrance facade. The top of the arch offers stunning views of both the city below and the surrounding countryside, making it an excellent tourist destination for those visiting St. Louis with children. The Drury Plaza Hotel St.

Super cool experience! The pods in the tram are tiny but we got to ride in one ourselves, so nice to not have to sit in one with strangers. The door is glass which is awesome as you can view what the inside of the Arch looks like on your ride up and down. 4 min up, 3 min down. Husband is claustrophobic but was OK on the ride! Time at the top is short but plenty of time to take pictures of just look and enjoy the view. Our group was only about 11 people total so not crowded at the windows at all. The museum is interesting with lots to read. Cafe was expensive but food was OK. Tour guide for the tram was upbeat and friendly. The Arch was definitely the highlight to our trip to St.Louis! And the small state park surrounding the structure was nice as well.

Nicole P — Google review

It's cool to see. I don't know that I'd need to do it more than once. Buy tickets in advance. You can also check the website around 900a and see if they are any available tickets. I checked and got a ticket for the same day. You have to go through security as it's a national landmark. They have a museum area after that and other setups to learn about the arch and its history, there is a gift shop and cafe inside. Line up at your time... there aren't many people lining up until about 4-5 min prior to the scheduled time. You stand in line for a while before you get to go back. There really isn't a benefit because you get assigned a group 1 through 9. You sit with your group in the pod up and down...maximum of 5 people

Emily A — Google review

Great place to visit! Lines all ran smoothly and it was an orderly transition from the check-in to the top and back down. Some unique history all the way from out greeting to a little movie to the facts projected on the doors that let you on to the tram. 4 minutes up and 3 minutes down. Yes, the tram is small but you can see the inside of the arch via the window/doors on the side. They allot the group 9 minutes at the top which is more than enough time to get some great photos. I’d recommend the movie on the building of the arch as it helped to make sense out of the architecture and the construction. The museums in the area were also very informative. Highly recommended.

Bryan B — Google review

I had never really wanted to visit the Arch but I thought I'd give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised. A beautiful museum to see before you have to purchase anything at all. Definitely go to the top of the arch. Amazing views. And if you get there at noon you can see the shadow perfect between the two legs of the Arch!!!

Oliver S — Google review

Wonderful experience! It was cool driving through town and seeing the arch get bigger and bigger as we got closer. Then to be standing under it was amazing. The view from the top and museum were fabulous. The tram ride was faster than expected. We’ll worth the time and Money!

Bonnie D — Google review

We had the chance to visit a couple of times. It has an incredibly beautiful atmosphere. It looks so beautiful from the outside. It makes me happy every time I see it. The museum is incredibly beautiful. There is a very beautiful narration. Everything is simple and technological. The main problem here is going upstairs. It's incredibly claustrophobic. Unfortunately, you can't find a satisfying window when you go upstairs.

Mehmet Y — Google review

Worth doing it to check the box, but not sure I’d feel the need to do it twice. The whole thing is about $15+ per person to take the tram (a claustrophobic Ferris wheel ride staring at concrete) up to a small room to look out tiny windows. I had more fun taking pictures for tourist families than I did staring out the tiny windows. Cool view, but a little anticlimactic for the price. The museum looked cool, but unfortunately we were in a bit of a rush and didn’t get to check it out.

Michael M — Google review

I came to the Arch as a child and my son is now 10 years old so it was time to create the memories with him. He had learned about the Arch at school and now he's been able to witness it first hand. Overall it was a great experience. A little crowded and had to wait for a chance to get my son up in the windows to see the sights and get photos of him. A security lady asked us to leave as I was grabbing a couple photos we had waited on other people to move on, for my son's memory book. I explained to her we had to wait on all of the other people to be able to look out. Maybe she was having a bad day. Regardless the trip was nice and the other employees were all super nice and professional. The landscaping and surroundings were all beautiful.

Meredith S — Google review

It was such a cool experience to see in person. It's a lot bigger than I expected. We went there early in the morning, and there was no one around, so we got a lot of time for pictures and just enjoying the arch. By the time we did the sightseeing outside and went up into the arch, we were done by 1130 or so, and it got busy quickly. Would recommend if you are able and around the area.

Tara M — Google review

The Gateway Arch is an amazing work of engineering and design. The tour was good but the narrator spoke so fast I could only understand bits and pieces of the story. The ride to the top was awesome and the view was incredible. They really could use an updated version of the videos though. I felt like I was sitting in an elementary classroom watching an old documentary. Not a good feeling. The parking was much to far from the entrance and the signs were poorly placed. I have bad knees and back. I park with a handicap tag but could not find the parking for handicap. The parking cost was too expensive as well. If you fix a few things mentioned you could easily reach a five star rating. All that said, I do recommend this business. It is worth seeing.

Palomar 6 — Google review

Should be on the to-do list for everybody visiting St Louis. The Arch itself is huge and you can go up all to the top. Tour guide Sandy was awesome and very funny. The museum is just as impressive as the Arch itself. The history and development of St Louis is clearly explained. Well done. Museum itself is very clean and modern.

Jochem L — Google review

Well done National Park Service! I bought tickets online about a month ahead of time. I was able to have the tickets on my phone. We arrived about 30 to 45 minutes ahead of our tour time to allow for the security check. At the appointed time we were directed through the tour. The tour guides were courteous and very helpful answering questions. The views from the top are spectacular and for me, well worth the price of admission. The ride up and down is a little bumpy and the pod is a little claustrophobic, but should be no problem for most people. There is a historical museum after entry and before or after the tour that is worth a walk through. There is a concession stand of sorts as well as a souvenir shop. Overall, a great experience!

Robert J — Google review

Great experience. You go up a very small tram elevator and it's pretty cool. They have a small museum inside, obviously the gift shop, and a few places to eat inside. Would highly recommend if not afraid of heights and not afraid of being an enclosed spaces.

Ashley D — Google review

We went on a Saturday and it was fairly busy. We did the tram ride to the top of the arch and it was under $20 a person. Our son was free since he's a wee tot. You enter at the bottom and go through a security check(similar to at an airport). Then you can walk around and learn all the history facts. There is a little cafe and gift shop in that area, as well. If you have a ticket for the tram, you continue on to the next area and guides put in groups. The rest is a quick history lesson then an even quicker ride to the top. You get around 10 minutes to look out of little windows at everything around you then you hop back in your tram and head down. It's a really quick experience but also a neat one. The trams are quite small and fit 5 people snugly(see video). If you're claustrophobic you might consider skipping the tram. If you park by the water, be prepared to climb several flights of stairs. We did it taking turns carrying our 40lb son and the thigh burn was real😅

Desiree L — Google review

I didn’t even realize you could get to the top till we saw the tiny dots that were actually windows. Was hesitant to go the top at first, but totally worth it! You don’t even feel like you’re that high up, cause the structure is so secure. What was even more amazing is if you put your compass in front of the plaque, you’ll find that the Arch points exactly West and East to the degree! What an amazing place!

Augusto W — Google review

This is one of my favorite place to visit. It always amazes me with its beautiful and unique architecture. We could go up the arch. Better if you buy tickets in advance online. You need to go through the security check. There could be line depending on the crowd and time of the day. However queue passes fast. There is a museum after you pass through security, which is beautiful. You could enter either of north or south entrance to take tram to top of arch. They also got a decent cafeteria inside if you are hungry. I recommend one should take this tour and go top of arch. It never fails to amaze you. I love going to St. Louis because of this Gateway arch.

Ranjitha R — Google review

I have driven through St. Louis a few times but never actually visited until this weekend. What a great place! The Gateway Arch was great. The views are spectacular and really gives you great sight lines and visuals of the city and Mississippi River. The museum is also very nice, did not have food but the cafe looks nice. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had a great time.

Bryan S — Google review

The trip to visit the St. Louis Arch was an experience that truly surpassed any waiting time. The awe-inspiring sight of the iconic monument towering over the cityscape made every moment of anticipation worthwhile. However, navigating through St. Louis to reach the Arch was an entirely different story. The route we took felt unsafe, with dimly lit streets and questionable neighborhoods along the way. Despite the breathtaking beauty of the Arch, the journey to get there left us feeling uneasy and cautious. While the Arch itself is a must-see attraction, travelers should exercise caution and plan their routes carefully to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to St. Louis.

Joseph C — Google review

the arch is cool, the park is pretty, you get to see the river, city hell, downtown. Very pleasant place to walk. Its just disappointing that the museum and the tram close so early. Would have been nice to have gone up there during my layover. Why not have rides up and down at sunset? Or at night when you can see all the lights? I think people would really enjoy that.

Stadium

Busch Stadium is one of the most beautiful and historic ballparks in America and is home to the St. Louis Cardinals, one of the best baseball teams in the world. The stadium offers great views of downtown St. Louis as well as the iconic Gateway Arch.

My brother and I decided about 10 days ago to get tickets for the Cards/Royals series. We purchased Champions Club seats to take advantage of the all inclusive tickets. We could not have asked for a better time! Getting there was easy to find, when we got in we were directed to where everything was. We found seats to eat at prior to the Game. Joyce came and waited on us. She was GREAT! When We we’re head to our seats, Brian filled us in on all the info we needed about the club and how it works! He could not have been nicer. When we got to our seats, Melissa took care of us all night. She was INCREDIBLE! She had a full plate and handled it with the utmost ease and Grace. She definitely made the experience even better! Thanks so much!

One of the most beautiful stadiums in baseball! Love the red brick & black wrought iron retro look. Cardinal fans are some of the best in baseball. Electric atmosphere. Rich history. You won't be disappointed! 5 out 5 stars!

James H — Google review

Took a tour of one of the most beautiful stadiums I've ever been to. Our tour guide gave us some great historical facts. Even though the Cardinals aren't my team, I gained a new perspective of the city and their team (11 championships). At almost 20 years old, the stadium still looks brand new. The grounds keepers keep the grass and dirt looking perfectly amazing. Seeing the Gateway Arch in the background is even more awe inspiring. The tour allows you to actually sit in the dugout and see what it's like being so close to the field itself. Take the tour. You won't be disappointed. In addition, walking on the street, you are so close to the excitement of the game. It's as if the restaurants and streets are inside the stadium, even though they're right outside. It is the only stadium I've seen that incorporates and envelops the outside streets at the same level. Fun place to visit. Can't wait to actually see a game there.

Joann R — Google review

Beautiful stadium! Hey there early to walk around and explore. Take the time to make the long walk to the top to get the iconic view of the arch.Note: Empty water bottles are allowed so that you can refill water for free and also create less waste for the landfills!

Shana D — Google review

We went to the cardinals game in tribute as a farewell goodbye to my great grandmother that passed away. Although we didn’t really watch the game we had an amazing time and great experience. We did the walk through cardinals museum and then had lunch at ballpark village. We also did the build a bear at Busch stadium and that was so fun!! We loved it! Just wish we didn’t live 13 hours away..

Kristian L — Google review

Had a blast at the game! Was clean, and pretty well handled for the amount of people there. Definitely a bit confusing to drive to ( not a city girl) parking very close in garages and what not. streets were decently clean on the small walk there. Did see a fight break out in a restaurant right there as we left the game. it was a worker threatening a customer... so that was kinda scary it was heated.... but the stadium itself was great.

Rachael W — Google review

Great place for a look around. All the staff that we conversed with were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful! The place looks immaculately looked after, and there’s a ton of things to do around here. Didn’t manage to catch the came as we were headed to Springfield, but I’d have loved to have stayed and watched the Cardinals!

TripWithRich — Google review

Top-5 stadium in baseball to catch a game. It truly is baseball heaven as you take in the smells and ambiance of the park and of course St. Louis Cardinals baseball. The view of the Gateway Arch is immaculate. However, be aware of the Gestapo patrolling the entry gates. Some Cardinals ushers take their job a little too seriously, so make sure you read what is and isn't allowed in the stadium before you have to make a jaunt back to your car. Lots of reasonable parking lots around the radius of the stadium. The concession stands and souvenir shops are second to none. If you arrive early their is plenty to do in and around the stadium (Ballpark Village and Jefferson Expansion National Park). Put Busch Stadium on your bucket list, it's a good one.

Went to my first ever MLB game back on May 28th against the Brewers. I bought box seats for the 5 of us and we all had a great time. I would definitely go back. Just a fun, laid back experience.I had to go to the upper section to get the pictures of the field with the Gateway Arch in the background, just an awesome backdrop of the skyline. Next time I want to go to a night game.

Been to 5 ballparks and this one was amazing. Staff awesome. Lots of food places and restrooms. Escalator to the cheap seats. Really cool spot. The views are amazing. Would have 5 stars if they would have a Mark McGuire statue!! Honor the Big Mac and get over it!!

What an incredible visit we had to Busch Stadium! As a lifelong baseball fan, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop by on our way to Kentucky, and boy, am I glad we did!St. Louis is known for having some of the most passionate baseball fans in the country. The rich history of the team adds an extra layer of excitement to the whole experience.Let me tell you, the stadium and weather on that particular day were nothing short of perfect! The setting was simply breathtaking, and I couldn't help but soak in the beauty of the old ballpark. Now, let's talk about the Cardinal Club House Store – it was a delight! The store was filled with an impressive array of Cardinals merchandise, and the crew inside was warm, welcoming, and eager to assist. One thing that stood out to me was the fantastic outside area around the stadium. It's a perfect gathering spot for fans to come together, share their love for the game, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere before and after the games.I'm now more determined than ever to plan another trip back to watch a Cardinals game. Maybe, just maybe, they'll be taking on the Braves! I can already feel the excitement building! If you're a baseball enthusiast or just looking for an unforgettable sports outing, Busch Stadium in St. Louis is an absolute must-visit. The combination of the stunning venue, passionate fans, and the Cardinals' remarkable history makes it a baseball lover's paradise.

Our home! Busch Stadium delivers the full baseball experience inside and outside of the stadium. Ballpark village is an excellent addition to the area and there’s always so much to do if you’re not watching baseball.I used to work here as an usher and can attest that the organization truly puts its best foot forward and strives to provide the best customer experience for fans from all over. The theme nights, giveaways, policies on bringing in food, games on the Jumbotron with prizes, and more only add to the experience of the game. I’ve been to other stadiums in MLB but truly , without being biased, Busch stadium is the best.

Loads of fun for the whole family or even just a fun night/day out with friends or significant other! As with every entertainment venue, the food was pricey. But we enjoyed the shrimp and beef tacos at the Mission Taco Joint and my daughter enjoyed a chicken combo from It's Big Chicken. We did this as a field trip for our homeschooled daughter and you can go to their website and receive a certificate for attendance of First Game as a credit per lady at the entrance. We found the certificate and filled it out; however we have not verified this credit claim is true.Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves for our first time at this stadium❤️🥰

Awesome spot for a ball game. This stadium is massive! Lots of good food and drink selections. Sat about 15 rows up from the third base dugout and only paid $30 per ticket. Super fun.

Top 5 of the best stadiums I've been to. The only thing that you need to do is educate your employees on where the same day memorabilia is in the park. It took me a better part of two innings to find because no one could direct me. But I will be back. I did enjoy the experience there and the seats are all wonderful. I also suggest doing the stadium tour before the game.

We got a chance to tour the stadium during our company business dinner. It was very beautiful. We had a fantastic dinner and drinks and then got to see some of the stadium including the dugout, going on the field, the locker rooms and even practice cages! Thank you Dot Foods for all you do for your employees. My husband has been the 20+ years and we love that you are so family oriented and treat us to fantastic things like this.

A very beautiful and huge stadium! There's something for everyone here. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating with my grandma, who was in a wheelchair, and me. As we were waiting to be picked up, a staff member whisked us into some of the best seats in the house so we could finish watching the game with a wonderful, comfortable view.

Busch is a beautiful stadium! We did the tour before the game, and it was a really large group, but the tour guide did a great job! They take a nice picture at the start with the Gateway Arch in the background - cool addition! I ate a bacon-wrapped hot dog with baked beans and crispy onions and all I can say is YUM!! Really enjoyed our time! Everyone was really nice and helpful!

I was super impressed with Busch Stadium. So much that I will go back. What a great set up baseball. There are a lot of seats outside and TV so you can just hangout in the ballpark village and watch the game without going inside. The whole atmosphere of the area is just amazing. Can't wait to go back again!

Busch Stadium is a fantastic sports venue.Cardinals fans know when to be quiet; and appreciate the small things when there team executes small things.Entry was easy. The stadium was walking distance from my hotel.Restaurants and bars surround the stadium so there are plenty of places to visit before the game.I love that you can see the Arch right over the left field skyline.Center field is a great place for families to get together and hang out; with the large scoreboard to keep up with the game.I have been to sporting venues all over America; Busch Stadium did not disappoint.I would highly recommend taking in a game to all sports fans.

Busch Stadium is baseball. Whether the Red Birds are good or bad the fans support this team. Everything about this stadium screams baseball history and the experience was fantastic. Lots of food, drink and history to take in. Take me out to the ball game.

My favorite baseball stadium! There is always such a happy atmosphere with Cards Nation. The food options are THE best! The bacon wrapped hot dog place is my most favorite and is a must try. Tickets are normally pretty reasonable priced, even cheap. This is a great family or friend place. Parking options are close by. Ballpark Village is next to the stadium and makes a great pre or post game about spot.

Being from Chicago, I didn't appreciate this place until I saw it firsthand. It has a great view of the city from up top and good prices considering the second home game of the season.

My wife and had an absolutely wonderful time attending a game at Busch Stadium. I’ve been a Cardinals fan since 1968, but for whatever reason, I rarely make it to a game. This year was different and I hope to make the time for more games in the future. Our seats were great, the staff working the game were very friendly and the whole experience was memorable. I can’t wait to return for another game.

Did the classic tour. Very cool stadium and the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Got to see some cool spots like the dugout, luxury boxes and radio booth. Kids liked the tour as well, not just for baseball fans. Reasonably priced too. Fun thing to do for an hour if you’re into cool buildings.

My baseball cap off to the man who made the BEST dang hotdog I have ever eaten in my life. It's always a great time in Cardinal Nation, but Lilgreg really made a masterpiece at the bacon wrapped hot dog stand. It truly added to one of many great days at Busch Stadium.

Performing arts group

The City Museum of St. Louis is an impressive performing arts center made entirely out of found objects. It provides a fun and frivolous setting for artists to exhibit their work, while also being a serious architectural and artistic project.

This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If you get a chance, go! Doesn't matter if you have kids or not. The art is wonderful and the kids had an absolute blast! So much to see and do. My kids and I spent 4 hours here and I feel like we barely scraped the surface. The cave system is awesome. And all the slides take it to the next level!

Amazing place for everyone. Toddlers to bigger kids to teenagers and adults. You could spend hours here and keep finding amazing things. The food isn't crazy experience either so you can spend the day here. They were super great with our large group over the weekend. We had about 90 people in our group and they were super accommodating and there were no issues.

Jess F — Google review

This is the most amazing museum we've seen. It is a total immersive experience that bring you from one world to another completely different world. It has an aquarium, and many indoor and outdoor playground, plus an open rooftop. It is literally a playground for both kids and adults. What are you like to climb and crawl, or just walk without any strenuous moves, there is always a path to explore all the hidden gems in this museum in ways that you are comfortable. And it has so many spaces and so many ways to see things that you can spend days getting lost in these world. And even if you come back again and again, the experience can still be completely different. We highly recommend this as a must visit if you ever come to St. Louis.

Michael P — Google review

City Museum is one of the hardest places on earth to describe. It’s fun for kids and adults alike to explore this massive building with all sorts of oddities, places to crawl and explore, and climb. You might be crawling through narrow spaces on your hands and knees or suddenly exploring caves. They have an outdoor area with massive metal structures to climb as well as a unique rooftop area (open seasonally during the warm months) with things that you must see to believe.I highly recommend getting knee pads for just about anyone who is going to explore anything here. You have to explore and play at your own risk and be cautious. If you do have kids with you, it will be easy to lose them as some slides go between floors and it may not be quick or easy to catch up.The space is well maintained and the staff is generally very friendly and helpful when needed. There are snacks available on the second floor and there’s a bar on the third floor. They have lockers available to rent and it’s worth it to have a place to stash items since you will work up a sweat and it may be easy to lose valuables. This is one of the most unique places I’ve ever been to and something that I’d consider a must visit attraction for anyone coming to Saint Louis for the first time. Don’t skip this and take your time exploring since there’s a lot to see.

I truly love this place. If you go to St. LOUIS, the City Museum is a must-see/do! Since college, I've enjoyed exploring this multi-story playground filled with amazing works of art and pieces of St. Louis. I had the privilege of bringing my kids for the first time and they had a blast.

Angie G — Google review

You have got to take your children here! I visited as the parent of adult children. I wish I had taken my kids here. This place is amazing. Be sure to give your kids a quiet break every once in a while because it’s really overwhelming for little ones. The employees are polite and thoughtful and knowledgeable. There’s something for everybody here to see or enjoy. The views from the rooftop are nice. The young man running the Ferris wheel day I visited was very entertaining and really seemed to enjoy his job. I wish someone would check on the antique cabinets because items are falling off the front of the shelves. I’m looking forward to returning

A. — Google review

Such a cool concept. A beautiful and strange interactive experience that was just as much fun for me as it was for the kids. Only thing that prevented this from being five stars was the rooftop closed during our visit, after we had bought tickets for it, due to heat/lack of staffing before we got up there and they do not offer refunds, only rain checks. Since we aren't from the area (and I'm sure a large number of other visitors are not local) there's no way we'd have been able to come back.

Sara S — Google review

What an absolutely awesome experience for kids and adults! You have to be fairly nimble but there's fun to be had from all. Even just walking through and checking things out is pretty neat. One of our favorite Parts was the seven story slide, it was really fast and an absolute blast! Parking was easy and a good time was had by all. The only negative that I can really think of is St Louis is not nearly as nice overall as many big cities I've been to but, of course, this has nothing to do with the quality of the museum.

Matt D — Google review

Love this place! The most extreme climb is definitely on the rooftop. If you’re coming for a single day then just get the roof pass and do it. Such a fun place to spend hours, always something new, food, everything to stay entertained.

Adam K — Google review

This has got to be one of the most unique places I have ever been. Literally everywhere you look is a place to climb or slide. A lot of this place is mosaic tile that is absolutely beautiful. We spent around 3 hours here and didn't get to see the whole thing because of how massive this place is. We have a 3 year old that would not sit still, he had to see and explore everything. There are endless thing for kids to do here. Unfortunately we were not able to get on the roof because of weather, but we still had an amazing time. Id recommend this place if you have kids and want to see something like you've never seen before. I cannot say enough about this place and how much fun we had, we will definitely be back!

If Mad Max had a Kids Palace this would be the destination!! What an adventure. So much climbing and birth canals secret tunnels!! make me wish I had knee pads and a headlamp. There is so much to climb!! Then Slide! It’s one big cavernous Jungle gym! Your inner child will be revealed and there is even an old school pinball section. We didn’t get a chance to see all the outdoor activities like the Ferris wheel school bus etc… because it was winter;(

The City Museum is unique in the way that it feels like intentional chaos. It’s almost like an interactive art museum. The playgrounds/ climbing/sliding structures are very unique. Most of them go from one floor to another (I think there were a few that went between three floors). The day that we went the museum was packed and with the play structures being so big and behind walls and going floor to floor, it was extremely stressful trying to keep up with the children with our group. If you are expecting an organized, learning environment for kids, this is not it. This isn’t the kind of museum that has different learning stations, everything just randomly turns into something else. You go from a winding metal structure for kids to climb on to a wall of antiques with no explanation. The one real station I saw amidst the chaos was a toddler area where some big kids had taken over and there were no workers to be seen. We were there for several hours and I only ever saw one worker. There’s no one there to help parents FIND their kids when their kids go down a slide when the sign says it ends on one floor but actually ends on another. There were also several things that stood out as red flags to us as being safety concerns/ not up to code.Maybe it’s not always as busy as it was the day that we went but it was stressful as the parents trying to keep up with kids that go up a set of stairs that go behind a wall and it takes you 5 minutes to find where it comes out.I will say that the food from the restaurant we ate at was good. (Alcohol available- and after spending time in that museum- I can see why.) 😅The gift shop souvenirs were about as random as the museum which was kind of funny. My aunt and I joked that the t-shirts in the gift shop should say “I survived the City Museum with all my kids.”

The most redeeming quality of this place is all of the stuff that has been kept out of a landfill. Props to the artists who’ve created a fun place to explore. My 80s kid at heart did appreciate that there was a lot of space for free play, climbing, exploring. But… There were WAY too many people in the facility. My husband commented that this may have been where Covid originated. I understand that they are making $20-30 per person, so packing them in makes more money. But limiting the number of people would increase the quality of the experience so much more.Gift shop idea- sell headphones or ear plugs!!!It felt like half of the facility was food places, gift shops, and kiosks where you can spend more money. There appears to be plenty of space in the building that isn’t being used. I’d consider visiting again if they open up new spaces to explore. Otherwise, I most likely won’t return.

This place is so special! It's unlike any other attraction you've ever been to. There is just so much to see and explore, I feel like you can keep going again and again and you'll find something new every time. it's great for all ages - we were a huge group from ages 2-13 plus adults and everyone had the best time. The ONLY thing I will tell you is all the nooks and crannies make it super easy to get lost so you do have to keep a very careful eye on your kids, including knowing where they are going to end up when they go down a slide. But it is absolutely worth the extra effort. We love this weird wacky wonderful museum!

Rachel S — Google review

Whoever said this place isn't for adults must be old or boring!! 2 adults in their 30s had a wildly fun time for nearly 5hours! The roof is underwhelming, you don't need to pay more for it. But the inside (and outside) are a blast. Be sure to find the 10story slide (it's kinda hidden in what feels like a boiler room). The circus was cute, and the aquarium had some interesting fish. My only comment is that the seahorse has a sign about how they mate for life and dance with their partner twice a day... but there's only 1 seahorse! I really wish they would adopt another one because that's heart breaking. Oh and your knees will be sore after climbing all of the steel tubes!

My son had a good time. He is 10. He definitely saw it is a cool adventure. If there was a way to ensure he couldn't be taken or hurt without my knowledge, I could have let him run free a little more but I felt like I'd lose him if he got out of my sight because this place goes on and on! Lol. So I was overprotective and followed him around. Every thing was really cool. Unfortunately after walking thousands of steps to reach the top they said you can't slide with a small bag. I had to bring my bag to be able to pay for our way in, etc. So that was unfortunate after walking so many stair cases. Maybe a sign at the bottom saying no bags allowed? 🤔 it was hot, but overall the place is very cool and very fun for a kid to explore. We may come back some day and try again when he's older.

So much fun. And so big. You can explore for 8 hours straight and not see it all. There's so many little surprises and nooks and crannies. A great place for kids to go and get some of their energy out.The halloween decorations are a nice touch and makes for a spooky good time.

Derek W — Google review

This place is incredible. It's nonsensical. I don't understand any of the why or how. It's like Dr. Seuss came back from the dead and took up welding. It's incredible fun no matter your age. There's stuff you can climb on. There's stuff you can climb through. There's places you won't fit. You'll probably get lost. Your kids will get lost. You'll leave with a different set of kids than what you started with. It all somehow works out in the end. There's not much to say other than bring some knee pads and have fun in this gem of a place. This place is the best thing St. Louis has to offer.

Greg E — Google review

First off this place is extraordinary, it is fun even for a 16 to 30-year-old, I wasn't expecting to see a grown adult have fun inside the caves and all the places you can crawl. It's a place where you can learn and have fun at the same time. I would recommend it for any age. The only thing I recommend for families with kids is that SUPERVISE YOUR KIDS, and know where they are at all times, YOUR KIDS CAN GET LOST IN THERE.

Malakh C — Google review

Whether you buy your tickets in advance, you pay a convenience fee which is $2 a ticket or you can buy it at the window. Wait a little bit and pay a little extra which evens out to what you would pay online. Kids absolutely loved it. I just set them free and let them go explore. We spent 4 hours and we left the museum to eat lunch and then we were able to come back in and play some more. There are bathrooms on every floor, and food vendors as well. They had a variety of food to choose from around $10 and up. We Chose to have a picnic in the parking lot, Beside our vehicle. Parking was $15 for the day.

Great museum with a variety of displays, bars, and restaurants through its several floors. Most of the museum is climbing stairs, tunnels and caves. There are more slides than I could count and some decent several floors. This place is ideal for active children and is less ideal for older or sedentary individuals. There was a live performance tasty was interesting. Solo circus.

Will O — Google review

There is so much to see and enjoy at this place. It really was so crowded that it made it difficult to enjoy. I was lucky to be able to sit down for the circus. It was enjoyable. It's fairly easy to lose your child in the tunnels because I really have no idea where they end up or come out. If you don't follow your child into one of the many random holes.. then be prepared to spend most of your time searching for them instead of actually enjoying your time there. We got to enjoy one of the slides that were outside. Honestly, I haven't been down a slide in probably over a decade.. until today. It was exhilarating! I wish i could have been a lot more in shape, 10 years younger, and here without kids.. and probably with a max of 100 people there.. then it would have been Amazing! Also face painting $17 come on? The only thing we ended up buying in there was a Maple the dog plushie from the circus, and that goes to a good cause, so it was well worth it! This place is also Very warm.. so dress light.. but not so light that you stick and squeak all the way down the slide.

Catherine M — Google review

A haven for artists….which is both good and bad. Good, because it’s a very creative, interesting space. Not so good because they apparently don’t apply common business principles. For example, it took 35 minutes to park. Why? One entrance, and one person taking $$. The wait to get in was another 40 minutes. Never mind that we bought out tickets online; that does not matter until you get into the lobby. Once inside, the long lines continue: for the restrooms, the slides, and best of all, for food. I was the fourth customer in line at Beatnik Bob’s and waited 30 minutes to order and receive my food. They had 3 people working in the restaurant. I actually felt bad for them. See my photo for context; it was taken immediately after getting my order. Finally, I find their security protocols completely lacking for such a large space. No metal detectors, no bag checks, no visible security officers. There were cameras, but it sure seems like you can bring in what you want, and I’m not ok with that. (Though I wish I would have brought in some snacks.)

Marc L — Google review

The City Museum is an experience different from all else. I found it similar to The House on The Rock and Meow Wolf in the way that it is so crazy to behold. The size of this place is amazing, and every inch is packed with activities, art, and the main attraction, tunnels. Everywhere you look, you see a metal tunnel, or a hole into the wall, or a massive tree with metal surrounding it, just waiting to be climbed. Although some tunnels are a bit of a squeeze, there are almost always multiple ways to get to any given place. Both adults and children were exploring, climbing, and being active in this marvelous place. We spent 8 hours exploring and I'm sure we still didn't see everything. There are almost no words for this place, and I would recommend this place with the absolute best of my ability. Keep in mind that I didn't even mention all of this amazing place, there are so many activities and hidden crannies.

Hazel Z — Google review

Sooo much fun! Our kids had the best time and want to go back as soon as possible. It's a little intimidating at first since your kids essentially just disappear into this massive maze of tunnels and slides and crawl spaces. Once we were able to get over that fact and join in the fun with the kids, we couldn't get enough. We spent the whole day exploring the space and probably could have spent another day or two easily. They also have a small selection of lizards and fish in the museum - including "Dr. Fish" that eat the dead skin off your hands. Really weird, but also a unique experience!

We brought knee pads the second time and this was our second time much better with knee pads.Still love this place! Finally got tickets to the roof this time. Absolutely incredible place! Can't wait to see what else they add in the years to come.Absolutely love some of the repurposing they've done with the old pieces of equipment and etc.

It was very busy. (forgot about the existence of spring break) lol! I love the creativity and trade skills on display to create such amazing pieces and the fact you can touch and interact is a dream for me. I loved being able to touch the designs and feel the work. You definitely need knee pads if playing in the caves! My inner child was so happy here, to feel pieces of time and the re-purpose of them into new yet respectful ways to inspire new generations. ❤❤❤

Lynn K — Google review

Not adult friendly for sure. You can only enjoy it with kids and even then, I wouldn’t bring my child there. Some parts are definitely dangerous. There were barely warning signs or instructions anywhere even though there were clear safety hazards. Some areas were pretty disgusting too. If you’re walking around and not touching anything, some parts were cool to look at. My friend had a good laugh when I hit my head on one of the slides so that was fun! I would definitely not recommend it as a St Louis must. And definitely not worth the price.

The Fabulous Fox Theatre is a beautiful 1920s movie palace that now hosts musical performers and touring Broadway shows. It's an excellent place to enjoy a Broadway show, with its decadently decorated interior and amazing Asian motifs. The theater is located in the Grand Center Arts District in Midtown St. Louis, making it easy to find. Throughout the year, it hosts a variety of different shows, all of which are incredibly romantic.

This location is absolutely stunning! A phenomenal example of period architecture and opulence! We saw Wicked, which we had all seen score in NYC, by this location is a show stopper! We had Club seats, great service and tasty bits all served right to our seats all while surrounded in beauty. I took the time to stroll around the building and snap some photos because I was amazed! Over 4000 seats! Remarkable journey in time!

I come to The Fabulous Fox Theater often, and I love it every time. There is no bad seat in the house. The seats are roomy and the staff is friendly and helpful. The decor in this place is amazing, it's art! I love the feel of just being here.I have been to other theaters, and this one is hand down the best. If you are on the fence about whether or not you should come to a show her, do it, you won't regret it.I have seen like at least 15 shows at The Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis. They also have food that is reasonably priced. I have brought in my own bottle of unopened water, and they let me in with it every time.

Crystal S — Google review

I have been to this theatre many times over the years for all types of shows. I aways have a great time. Most seats have great views. I've only struggled to see a shoe when I sat in the very last row on the second floor balcony. It's a good idea to go with a lower row on the second floor. If you are able to get seats in the boxes for a special occasion I recommend it. You'll have parking on the theatre lot and also a waiter that you can purchase drinks and snacks from. If you're a season ticket holder definitely buy the parking pass for the parking garage nextdoor. It's very convenient. Buy your food and drinks when you first get in the doors because if it is a sold out show they will run out of things sometimes. Seats are comfortable and the staff is knowledgeable.

This is a gorgeous theater. We watched a show and while although the show itself was great I feel like I was more enthralled by the theater itself. The age and history in how this was made, the depths where famous people would watch movies before they came out. Loved just about everything in this place. Staff was amazing as well by the way they were very friendly

What an amazing historic theater. The architecture and design can leave you in as and amazement. Not only do you get to experience top notch productions but you can explore the visually masterpiece of The Fabulous Fox.There is a nice drop off area if you are taking a car to the show which makes arrival and departure very easy. There are plenty of outlets for food and drink and as with many theaters plan to spend some time in line. Not sure if it was just the show we attended or not but the sound quality was not perfect.

The Funny Girl Musical was fantastic. Great voices and the tap dancing was superior. The Fox continues to greet you with smiling faces and a warmth of friendliness. You walk in and are hit with childhood memories of all the shows you have witnessed in your lifetime. We then walked one block to have a dinner at Gary's. Wonderful door greeting. Outstanding fried catfish and Chicken Fettuccine. We enjoyed talking to the owner, Gary, and listening to the music played. A truly enjoyable Sunday of enjoyment.

Went to see Hamilton. Wonderful production. Great cast. Beautiful venue. We were in row N one aisle to the right of center. There were many occurrences where it was difficult to understand the words being spoken/sung by the cast. Sometimes because the music was too loud, other times because the cast was so soft in their delivery. It wasn’t just because the delivery of words is so fast during this production.

An absolutely amazingly beautiful theater!! We were treated to a comedy show by my husband's work here. We had a catered dinner before the show that was very good and got to wonder around the theater. The seating was terrific, not a bad seat in the house!

Julie G — Google review

This is just the most fantastic place to catch a show. There isn't another building like it, and it's worth going just to tour the theater itself. The history and artistry in every detail, covers every inch of this truly breathtaking theater. The quality of the shows here are also top notch, and we have never seen a bad one. Memorable for the entire family, a must see if you can. We took our children to see "Bluey's Big Play". It was fun and engaging for every member of the family! It takes a lot of skill to be that intriguing to teens, adults, young children, and a toddler. We hope to be back again soon, the lineup of new shows all looked amazing!

Saw my first show, The Book of Mormon, here.I have driven by the theater many times, but was surprised by the interior. I was not expecting 'jungle-esque' vibes. The theater is gorgeous and ornately decorated.I will definitely be coming back for more shows.

Catelin R — Google review

I haven't seen the show here since I was a kid. I remember taking field trips here to see live shows. I also can remember going with my parents at one point. I come down to this area anytime I visit home. The buildings and architecture down here are so beautiful.

I always love going to the Fox!! Beautiful and great shows! My 13 year old granddaughter went with us to see Mamma Mia, and she loved it.

Jadell A — Google review

Truly one of my favorite places. I’ve been going here for years and it’s still an experience like no other. I’ve seen all the Broadway series shows the last two years along with some music performances and it just keeps getting better. The service is top notch and the drinks are always strong and cold. Best pretzels in town.

Christian H — Google review

Fabulous is not a big enough word for the Fox. This grand and amazing architectural wonder is the jewel of St. Louis. No matter who you see perform here, you are doing it with magnificent style and grace. Thank you for hosting Cirque Du Soleil's Twas the Night Before. Amazing performance. Amazing venue!! I hope to join you again soon, and often!

Jimi B — Google review

Beautiful venue. Well organized. Several beverage counters, fast moving lines.

J P — Google review

A beyond beautiful theatre! They did an amazing job restoring this place to its former glory! Got to see Beetlejuice here, and the cast was phenomenal. Furthermore, I was beyond impressed with the ambiance and it seemed like every seat in the place was a great view! I would come here for plenty of more shows to enjoy here at the Fabulous Fox.

Alyssa M — Google review

Can't beat the Fabulous Fox. I've seen many shows here, and the theater never disappoints. The Fox Club upstairs is a cool spot to get drinks and food before your show. Especially because the adjacent restaurant (Center Stage) fills up fast.

Porsha K — Google review

Absolutely love the Fox. It has so much history and is stunning in its architecture and decor. I try to attend a show or two each season and it never disappoints. Parking is easy but I always opt to pay for parking for convenience.

Shannon F — Google review

Always a great time at The Fox! The architecture is beautiful and there is not a bad seat in the house. The shows are always top-notch, and you will not leave disappointed.

Botanical garden

Sights & Landmarks

The Missouri Botanical Garden is a beautiful botanical garden located in St. Louis, Missouri. It contains a wide variety of plants and flowers, as well as a number of greenhouses and gardens. The gardens are open to the public during the daylight hours, and it is a popular tourist destination.

Went here with my girlfriend the weekend before Christmas. It was a cold, but magical night. The lights and displays were wonderful with a great atmosphere. Taking our time it took us about 2hrs to walk through everything. We had hot chocolate and s'mores by one of the fire pits. If they do it again next year we'll be there!

Seth O — Google review

A really nice family friendly garden. Current under renovations to welcome center area, looks like a big project that will be amazing when completed. We came on Juneteenth for a free day at the gardens. They often have gardening workshops and the kids area of the gardens is amazing! Tons of fun things to play on, a slash pad, and more! Would come back just for the kids area!

Quincy B — Google review

Went to Glow lights. Was really nice, cold but nice. Only down fall was they take no cash at all. Only Credit/debit cards. They have a machine you can put cash in and it gives a pay card to use. So if you put $30 you have to use it all there. So unfortunately we were unable to buy hot chocolate, s'mores or any other items they sold. An advance notice on website or even at the door would have been nice. We'd definitely go again. The kids gad lots of fun.

I first visit back in the late summer during a blown glass exhibit; Chihuly items in every corner that were wildly complex and beautiful. I spent almost 7 hours on the grounds and met a very kind guide in one of the out buildings. We talked for an hour and he made me feel at home, educated me on some of the ceiling murals and told me where else to look for great exhibits. The gardens and all the butterflies and wildlife brought me a lot of warm, happy memories. Now that it’s right in my backyard, I’ll get a season pass for 2024. I can’t wait to spend more slow afternoons here.

Perfect Sunday in April to visit. Sunny and mid 60s. I brought my camera and had a blast walking around taking pictures. This place is big. A lot of plants and flowers aren’t bloomed yet but it’s still pretty. The gift shop is large and prices aren’t terrible. Good location for the garden, lots of parking! Definitely come back in the summer 🌺🌸💐🪴🪺☘️🌲🌼

Leslie and Mark are fantastic hosts. We had a lovely time, the entire mansion is gorgeous! Our bed was comfy and the room was cozy. In the morning, we had a nice meal of poached pear with a breakfast enchilada and mango juice, yum! Lily the puppy added a special touch to our visit. We will be back.

We went to the Garden Glow last Wednesday, and the Garden looks great! The new lobby and front steps blew me away with how amazing they looked. Everything looks so open and modern! I am a big fan of Glow, and of the garden in general. I love how it's set up, and the sense of peace and calm I get from being among all the flora. The new gift shop looks awesome, and I really like all the learning opportunities presented to guests throughout the garden. This is a St. Louis gem that we are so lucky to have!

David I — Google review

This is an awesome botanical garden. It’s very large and there is lots to see and do. We spent a couple hours there and didn’t cover as much as I would have hoped. I would definitely want to come back if I had the opportunity to. There are lots of different garden themes, ponds, and exhibits. It’s really beautiful and well taken care of. It’s perfect for plant and nature lovers! The Japanese festival aspect was really cool as well. There were some fun food options and a lot of people dressed up for it. It was fun to see a celebration of Japanese culture at the gardens.Because we went during the Japanese festival, it costed a little more- about $16 a person (special discounts didn’t apply during this particular weekend). It’s usually $14 a person though. We waited just a few minutes to get in because we bought tickets in advance. I would recommend buying ahead if its a busier time or a festival is taking place. I have heard weekdays and mornings are not quite so busy.

Can't wait to come back in late spring when more is in bloom. The gardens are massive, you could spend all day enjoying and exploring. Beautiful well kept grounds take you on a journey. It was a peaceful way to get my steps in and soak up some fall sunshine all while enjoying beautiful surroundings and seeing all types of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees from around the world.

CHERYL B — Google review

Looked like a really beautiful place. I guess we shouldn't have been, but we were surprised there was an entrance fee. We were hoping to just wander around for a little while. We did check out the gift shop and there were many cute items. Parking was easy and that was free. If we are in town again maybe we can plan to spend more time there and the fee would be worth it.

Amy B — Google review

Went to view their lights. Very impressive and well organized for the amount of people who are visiting. The parking lots fill up and while it may be intimidating to find street parking, I did get pretty lucky. Can’t say that the experience will be shared by others, but don’t feel overwhelmed! It’s a one way trail to enjoy the lights, so be sure to enjoy everything as you come across!

John G — Google review

What a beautiful botanical gardens right in the middle of a charming neighborhood. I think they said it was 76 acres. It was a perfect day to go. Mid-60's and sunny in March. I was surprised how many plants and trees were already in full bloom outside. They also have some great indoor areas. The glass dome was full of gorgeous plants and trees, with waterfalls and flowing water throughout. I loved the Japanese garden areas so much. So beautiful and relaxing. There were little pools with great statues around the grounds. I saw that there was a restaurant with cute outdoor seating, but we didn't eat there. Great store with so many fantastic and unique items/gifts. There were lots of people, but at most times, we didn't feel like it was too crowded. We enjoyed our visit.

Barb S — Google review

The Japanese garden was absolutely beautiful and bloom. The climatron was very clean and and lots of room to move around. It's still early in the year so not a lot of things were blooming yet. The magnolia trees were very fragrant. Everyone was very helpful and polite. Definitely going back later on in the year when more things are in bloom.

Kimberly M — Google review

This is just a review of the Garden Glow for the Holidays. It's open until 10pm, so the later you go, the less crowds. When we were leaving at 8:30, it was considerably thinning out. Lots of very cool light displays. Very organized as you are directed along a route. The regular garden displays are not open. Only a portion of the garden is lit up.Nice photo opportunities set up along the way. It's a little expensive but worth the money at least once. Also a great way to get some fresh outdoor air at this time of year.

Barry G — Google review

The Missouri Botanical Garden is truly one of the most spectacular gardens you can visit anywhere and one of the top places to go in St. Louis.Whether they've got an exhibit going or it's just the "normal" experience you're sure to have a fantastic time in this picturesque location. The photos in this review are from the 2023 Chihuly Exhibit. There are plenty of restrooms scattered about the Garden, as well as many benches if you need a rest or would just like to sit and contemplate your surroundings.I would recommend setting aside at least 2-3 hours for a visit, more if you want to see everything at a leisurely pace.

Sydney C — Google review

The Missouri Botanical Gardens is like an oasis in the middle of bustling St. Louis City. Though it is a ticketed entry ($14/adult for non-STL residents), it is worth every penny (especially when you're saving on all of the free things to do around the city). We took our teenager at the end of summer, who is big into science and biology. She left saying that she was only familiar with maybe 10% of what she saw before visiting the gardens. There is a wide variety of plant life all throughout. The gardens and walkways are meticulously manicured, all amenities sparkling clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and the giftshop well stocked and making you want to spend more and support the gardens. I LOVE that there are multiple spots throughout the garden where you can purchase small plants. 🪴 There are resources for the seasoned gardener as well as beginners and students.Love the various sections of the gardens and how well marked they are. There are free days to visit and a summer-concert series, as well as various special ticketed events. I hope to become a member in the future when I have more time to visit. The membership is affordable and will keep you coming back again and again to enjoy the natural beauty.

Kelsey S — Google review

Very impressed. It's huge with a wide variety of theme areas. We didn't have kids with us, so I didn't do more than a quick visit to the children's garden. It looked like a lot of fun. There were other areas that appealed to kids & allowed them to play. Great value!

Lynda Y — Google review

Note: If you are Missouri residents tickets would be half of the price. Bring your proof with youIt was a beautiful space and everyone was so helpful in the lobby area. This garden is an absolute must-visit, offering a serene and picturesque oasis right in the heart of the city. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom during my visit, creating a breathtaking display of delicate pink petals against the clear blue sky. It was the perfect backdrop for leisurely strolls and memorable photo opportunities. The garden's layout is thoughtfully designed, with well-maintained paths that meander through a diverse range of flora and themed areas.

Vipila B — Google review

It's so big and a lot of trails to explore. There are a lot of different areas or "regions" to see. We went late fall so a lot of the water fountains were off or not running, and the colors were not as bright on the plants but still a go walk. The climatron was gorgeous inside and so much to look at. I would do that again and again. Tickets are reasonable, and parking is free. Wish they had better food options. Very limited, so we thankfully brought something to drink and snack on for ourselves.

I recently visited the Missouri Botanical Garden during their Garden Glow event and it was a truly magical experience. The moment I stepped into the garden, I was transported into a world of enchantment and beauty. The Garden Glow event is an incredible display of thousands of twinkling lights that illuminate the garden in the most spectacular way. Every corner is adorned with colorful lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that left me in awe. The attention to detail in the light installations is truly remarkable and it's clear that a lot of effort was put into creating this magical ambiance.Walking through the garden, I was greeted by a variety of themed displays that were both whimsical and breathtaking. From the dazzling light tunnels that led me to different parts of the garden, to the sparkling light sculptures that depicted various animals and plants, every turn was a delightful surprise. The garden truly comes alive at night during this event, creating a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.Aside from the enchanting lights, the Missouri Botanical Garden also offers various activities and entertainment during the Garden Glow event. From live music performances to fire pits where you can cozy up and enjoy a warm drink, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The festive atmosphere and lively energy added an extra layer of joy to the overall experience.Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Missouri Botanical Garden during their Garden Glow event. It's a truly magical experience that will leave you with lasting memories. The combination of the stunning light displays, festive activities, and warm atmosphere make it a must-see attraction during the holiday season.

Great getaway! Trees are beginning to leaf, tulips are wonderful and the dogwoods were fabulous! Site has a trolley, restaurant, kids park, gift shop, sculptures, fountains, a maze and more. Allow at least four hours for walking and enjoying all this site has to offer.

Excellent. I have been to 3 botanical gardens... St Louis botanical gardens are more Victorian...old World.. the Japanese garden is the best. Lots of soft sculptures. Very clean and organized. The tour guide at the botanical gardens was Excellent.

I totally adored the Missouri Botanical Garden! It's like a hidden gem in the heart of Saint Louis. The vibe there is so chill, and everything is just perfectly kept. Plus, parking's easy, and the entry fees won't break the bank. The staff? Super friendly and welcoming. They even have cool volunteer gigs if you're into that. I snapped some pics in March, but can't wait for spring when everything's in full bloom. Seriously, go check it out!

Natalia S — Google review

Beautiful garden and VERY large! You could easily spend 2-4 hours here. We really loved this place, but for my husband, kid, and I, it was $48. My brother is local and it was free for him and his kid. $48 felt steep for an hour walk and a teenager that was only there because had to be. Teens should be $6 with a paying adult like the locals later in the day, if not free like the 12 and unders.

Nancy S — Google review

Visiting St. Louis and this is listed as one of the top places to visit/do. This was really disappointing. I have visited several Botanical gardens this time of year in several different states and this is the only one charging full price when mostly everything here outside is dead except a few tulips and daffodils...I rated this botanical gardens a 2 out of 5 because I really enjoyed the dome. Other than that.. save your money and wait until May or so to see when everything blooms.

Alethea S — Google review

It's spectacular. There is not much more to say. It's reasonably priced for admission. It's beautiful, the views from the random spots you can sit along the way around a particular area are all great. If you use the train, the drivers are all great and super knowledgeable about the flora. The glass artist that was on display had some stunning work.

So beautiful!! I went during Cherry Blossom season while on spring break and I absolutely adored it! I loved the Japanese Garden once again, and all the beautiful flowers in bloom. No wait, just scanned membership card and went right in!

I love the layout of this Gardens. It feels fresh every time we visit their magnificence. Thank you for creating a garden that's of ease to travel throughout the beauty.

Diane G — Google review

Even before spring properly started, the gardens were lovely. The indoor areas were stunning, and I can imagine how beautiful the grounds will be once the plants come in. It's a huge place as well! Easily could spend hours there.

Cheyenne M — Google review

Restaurant: zero starsGardens: five StarsWe waited over an hour for 1/2 of a grilled cheese and chips (it arrived stone cold and was inedible for $14) and the egg and ham sandwich (which arrived missing ingredients and since it is order and then get your food brought to you service there was no way to get this fixed since the girl of the ordering counter absolutely did not care at all about doing any sort of job). I did not want the sandwich, but ordered it because they were out of what was actually good on the menu. So be prepared for that as well. The gardens themselves were wonderful and I desperately wish we had simply skipped the cafe so that we could truly enjoy them instead of having our time eaten into with very bad food that was highly overpriced and ridiculously long awaited.

Great park and plenty of fun to be had here! The barn, with all the animals, is a really cool feature, and the lakes offer an opportunity for fishing. The park has a nice playground, and there are several picnic sites. It's a great way to spend your day!

Extravagant Farm with family oriented seating and playground. If you are interested in viewing their barn and stables, there are beautiful Cattle, Hens, Shetland Ponies, and other horses. Cool photo opportunities. Family had a great time!

Found a great place to sit in the shade of A Great Tree to talk with A New Lady Friend. I even got to play with fishing some while doing so. Appreciated the well maintained restroom that I visited too. As nice as it was in the 70's....

I highly recommend taking kids of age to this park. There’s more than just playing on the playground in this park. There is also animals you can walk around and if you bring a quarters you can feed them too. There’s also couple different lakes you can fishing in if you have your fishing license.

Laura ( — Google review

One of my favorite county parks, between the lil zoo, lakes and playground.. such a great park for family events or just a day spent outside.

Sonya K — Google review

One of my favorite parks to go by myself, with friends, and/or the kids. We all enjoy it! Spent many gatherings (birthdays, family reunions, or any celebration) there. Make sure you save quarters to feed the animals. They have a quarter machine that's a big handful. In the house stables there's a center where you can color, learn about animals (especially cows), a fake demo cow that you can milk (water comes out), and stickers and candy (the kids love that, we use our extra quarters for treats). I truly do love this park and feel we should have more like it!

Brandi J — Google review

Great place for the family. Play ground, go fishing (maybe, I've never seen anyone catch anything), feed the animals(bring quarters). Safe and fun place

Great little park for fishing, picnics or just letting the kids play on the playground.

John I — Google review

Oh my gosh this place was absolutely lovely! We didn’t run into many workers so I can’t really comment on that, but the park is well maintained and is very open and scenic. There’s two ponds, one where my boyfriend and I saw two very cute goose families and the other you could fish. Then the barn was just fabulous. They have food stands so you can feed the birds and goats/sheep. You can definitely tell these animals are well taken care of as their coats are shiny and their bellies full. The goats were very cute and didn’t mind you petting them at all. Although some can be a bit greedy with food, none are aggressive. The birds we didn’t feed but they were gorgeous to look at. The sheep were also very docile and took to petting very well, very fluffy. There were also some giant pigs/hogs. They were also very interactive with visitors, but they will eat anything so make sure not to feed them something harmful. They also like to be pet. There’s some mini ponies and also normal horses. There was even a big draft horse. These ones we weren’t able to really pet or anything because they were out in the field, but they were breathtaking. The farm does I think have the animals in the barns at a certain time where you can go directly up to them and get a good look, however they do have some that will bite but they do tell you which ones. I especially liked the bull they had. He was very kind and gentle, he would eat grass out of your hand. All you have to do is have the courage to walk up to him. The heifers were far out in the field so I couldn’t see them very well. As for the park itself, it was clean and had plenty of seating, a lot in the shade too. There’s also public restrooms, but I didn’t go inside. All in all this park was fantastic and I’m definitely adding it to my stl list of favorites to do! Would recommend to people of all ages!

Suson Park, you're like the Disneyland of the animal kingdom – I mean, where else can you find a place where the staff (read: the animals) are so welcoming? I strolled in, and the ducks were like the park's own paparazzi, quacking for autographs. The goats, well, they were mowing the 'lawn' with such enthusiasm that I thought they were auditioning for a 'Goat's Got Talent' show. Suson Park, you've turned the phrase 'going to the park' into a wild adventure – animal antics included, and the laughter is absolutely free! 🐓🦆😄

Catholic cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is a towering historical building with intricate mosaics that took over 80 years to complete. The cathedral is a popular destination for guided tours, and it also offers self-guided tours that are open any time except during Mass or special events.

An absolutely stunning cathedral. The main chapel was closed for remodeling, so my wife was able to attend Mass beneath the cathedral in St Cecelia's Chapel, at the end of a limestone corridor. The parishioner who showed us how to get down there said it was "in the belly of the Earth," and it definitely had that feel.

Mike O — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited, particularly in the United States. I rank it much above St. Patrick’s in NYC. The mosaics are breathtaking, containing over 41 million pieces of glass that were installed over 76 years by generations of the same family. I cannot recommend a visit to this great Catholic church highly enough, especially if you love art and architecture.

Scotty H — Google review

Religious or not, everyone should visit here at least once. It is stunning. It takes your breath away when you step inside. It feels like you're stepping into a Cathedral Basilica in Italy.

Andrew H — Google review

We hopped on a basic trolley tour of St. Louis, and boy were we delighted that this was a stop along the way (the only stop where we deboarded). Over 40 million mosaic tiles painstakingly installed over 40 years - I think that my mouth was open the entire time. It's best to visit outside of the worship schedule so that you can tour the entire interior.

Ted W — Google review

Unquestionably the most gorgeous church I've set foot in. I was fortunate enough to attend Easter Sunday mass. The church was full to the brim with fellow worshippers. The magnificent beautiful shone through like sunlight through a stained glass window. The walls are adorned with several biblical scenes that are famous and well represented. The priest was full of the holy spirit and his homily was amazing. If you're passing through the area on the weekend, your Sunday obligation should be spent here.

One of the most beautiful cathedrals i’ve visited. Amazing art and mosaics. So huge and very solemn. They also have a smallShop inside where you could buy different kinds of things, rosaries, caps, etc.

I get to travel all around the United States and visit some beautiful places. This church is one of the most beautiful churches I've seen in my life. I wouldn't expect this to be in the US if I saw it in pictures. The mosaic work is amazing, the construction is superb.

Absolutely breathtaking. It is the most beautiful building I’ve ever seen in my life. It should be the No.1 place to visit in St. Louis. Its beauty and magnificence are truly unforgettable. It is an experience you must have in person. I highly recommend that everyone visits this amazing cathedral. You won’t be disappointed. It is free and open everyday.

Awesome Christian Catholic Church! Very beautiful Church! Amazing Music! Without doubt this Church is absolutely worth the visit because it will be a great opportunity and adventure. Have a great day, know God loves you, and know when you learn true devotion to Jesus Our Savior he helps you become your happiest and most heroic version of yourself!

Absolutely stunning architectural masterpiece in St. Louis! To find this unbelievably European craftsmanship in St. Louis was really not on my list of expectations. This has to be one of the most beautiful churches in the nation, potentially worth noting on the global scale. With architecture this beautiful, it’s hard not to feel a sense of divinity in the room. Had me questioning my atheism (ok, not really, but you know what I mean).Truly stunning marvel that St. Louis is beyond lucky to have in the city!

Arin S — Google review

A massive and impressive cathedral that combines both Eastern and Western European architectural styles. As impressive as the exterior is, the interior is on a whole other level. Just seeing pictures of the interior was enough for me to want to visit. I wasn't aware though that the designs and artwork on the walls/ceilings were mosaics and not paintings. That made it all the more impressive just thinking of all the effort it took to finish it. There are free tours that occur throughout the day and we were fortunate enough to catch one. This is recommended as you are able to go to a few places that are inaccesible if not on the tour. There is also a small museum in the basem*nt.

Patrick V — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful cathedral we've seen around the world. It has the most beautiful mosaic that rivals those in France and UK. In fact it's the largest collection of mosaic in the world. Building the church took 7 years, but the mosaic work took 76 years. If you visit St. Louis, this is a site that you should not miss. It's literally jaw-dropping. Amazing!

Michael P — Google review

I was finally able to visit the Cathedral Basilica and do the tour. It was so beautiful. The mosaics are truly stunning. I saw some beautiful churches in the UK but none rival the sheer beauty here.

Tina O — Google review

The art and grandeur was breath taking. I found such calm and peace while there which was much needed in my life right now. Even if you are not Catholic or Christian I would recommend making a stop to admire the beauty.

Pam R — Google review

A must-visit. Absolutely amazing interior. There is so much to see here. Make sure to visit the various chapels and take the time after a mass to go to the front of the sanctuary and look toward the rear. I was especially struck by the vivid blue and red windows at the opposing ends of the building.

Trevor J — Google review

This is the most amazing cathedral! Do not miss this!!! The mosaic tiles are phenomenal 👏! I spoke to a person while there who had just returned from Rome. He was in awe and said the pope doesn't even have have a Cathedral this beautiful!!

Daniel M — Google review

Absolutely incredible/beautiful church. While I am not overly religious, I was in all of his beauty. Very clean and highly polished marble large wooden pews, huge vaulted ceilings, filled with gorgeous mosaics. They have on display the chair that the pope sat in on a visit. As well as a rare 14th century choir book on display. Regardless of your religious affiliations if you have the chance to stop by and see this basilica, it is well worth your time.

Sean P — Google review

Go here! Not religious, but did find a place to write the name of a deceased loved one for a prayer which was really neat. Just so beautiful and amazing place. Go down to the museum downstairs, very cool!A massive and impressive cathedral that combines both Eastern and Western European architectural styles. As impressive as the exterior is, the interior is on a whole other level. It might not be so ancient as the European churches. However, the number of mosaic pieces is incredible. The work that was done 100 years old is unbelievably gorgeous...You feel like you are a part of this huge masterpiece.Over 40 million mosaic tiles painstakingly installed over 40 years - I think that my mouth was open the entire time. It's best to visit outside of the worship schedule so that you can tour the entire interior.Must recommended

This is such a beautiful cathedral. What art and beauty within a building. The millions of of tiles. Just breath taking. It is well worth the stop. Peaceful and thought provoking. The priest there was very kind and welcoming.

The real experience of viewing this majestic piece of architecture is difficult to portray in words or photography. If you want to feel it, you have to be inside this cathedral. This basilica is dedicated to St. Louis. the historical figure that gave the city of St. Louis its name - and it lives up to its reputation. The central dome and the mosaic art on the ceiling, walls, and pillars are just astounding. The grandeur of this landmark building is something not to be missed.

Took a guided tour, so glad we did. Our guide pointed out features we would never have noticed on our own.The Basilica is stunning & must be seen to fully appreciate.Free tours, but check days and times in advance. They are scheduled at specific times to avoid Mass.Make sure to visit the basem*nt to see photos taken during construction.

One of the most beautiful churches in America . It's absolutely amazing to visiting walk through this holy church. Be respectful of the church goers. Free tours are availableCheck the website to get times .

I have been to many basilicas in the country, and the cathedral basilica of St. Louis is my favorite. Besides its religious significance, the architecture itself is a piece of art. I spent a good hour appreciating the interior and all.The skull of saint jean de brebeuf was available for people to pay respect and pray over on 2/25/2024. There was a short wait of about 15-20 minutes, and it was very well worth it.Highly recommend for believers and non-believers to visit!

Beautiful Cathedral. We took a guided tour thru the main part of the church, then thru the back of the altar where the organist sits and the priest comes from during services. There are 4 smaller chappels at each corner of the main church. They were each equally beautiful and unique. One of the chapels was named "Blessed Sacrament Chapel" (which I was not supposed to photograph, but I didn't realize that till after I saw the sign, too late, I'm fast with the camera, slow to read signs). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the lengthy history of the church and the beautifully built interior. The architecture of the interior is mostly Byzantine, as well as Romanesque. The walls, ceilings, domes were covered with gold mosaic tile...it was truly a beautiful church. The church is open for anyone to visit and tour on your own but you don't get to experience the whole church. Call ahead to schedule a tour.

Planetarium

Planetarium at the St. Louis Science Center since 1963, with live star shows & interactive exhibits.

Pretty neat place for you to bring your family. It's a great place to learn about science and see how some common things work. It's free to enter, but some attractions require you to purchase tickets. There's free street parking if you're willing to walk a couple minutes. You can also park at forest park and walk through from the planetarium side.

N C — Google review

Very kid friendly, but hoping for more informational stuff. The planetarium was the best part of the museum for me and a friend without kids. If we had kids definately would be a place I would take them. Very interactive and fun! They are a few food places, but mostly movie theatre type food though. They have an Imax as well.

Tara M — Google review

Another great, free gem for our city. So many exhibits and areas to explore. Throughout the many floors, you can learn about all things science! There are Hands-On activities and artifacts as well as demonstrations and shows. It's a great place to spend the day with kids of all ages. There are other activities for additional cost such as toddler areas, educational movies and interactive exhibits. The video game exhibit on the bottom floor was a little lacking since there were many things that were out of service. The kids always love exploring the dinosaur area and seeing some fossils and geological finds from our area is always cool. We usually park over at the planetarium and walk across the bridge to view the cars driving below but the parking lot has been closed for some time. Unfortunately, the only other parking besides street parking which is 3 hours, is the science Center lot which costs $12. If you purchase a movie ticket you only pay $6 for parking. They offer military discount for service members on several paid offerings. There are concessions and drinking fountains throughout. We really enjoyed the vault area which can be found on the planetarium side of the bridge. Definitely check it out if you're in the St Louis area. We are grateful for this great addition to the city!

Fun museum! I like that it’s catered to a lot of different ages.A lot of unique topics are covered here, which makes it interesting! The water exhibit and gaming areas were particularly fun. Would recommend if you’re in the area. It’s free but you do have to pay for parking ($10 I believe).

Brooke S — Google review

We had so much fun at the St. Louis Science Center. It’s probably the best science center I’ve ever been to and it’s awesome that it’s free. We will definitely go again. I only expected to spend maybe 2 hours but we spent 3 and only left then because we had other reservations. You could easily spend 4+ hours. The video game display could use a little attention though many of those items did not work as intended.

Amanda M — Google review

Brought my friend to this First Friday’s DUNE night, and I was blown away! I haven’t been to the science center in such a long time, but I will be back as often as I can after tonight. Every thoughtful piece included in tonight’s activities was perfect! Loved the “Water of Life” mocktail. I have been meaning to attend a planetarium show but can never make it work during the day, I was so excited to be able to for tonight…and for free! I just think it was such a great inclusive event and I can’t wait to go to next month’s. Thank you!!!

Kathleen J — Google review

Another free STL activity. Though you do pay $15 to park. The science center is huge. It tends to only get crowded during big events. Everything science from video games to skeletons, dinosaurs, gardens, architecture, space exploration, and more . It is huge. There's the overpass across I64 connecting the other side of the science center and kids get a few fun activities walking walking across.

David H — Google review

First time back here without young kids in tow. The Omnimax show "Deep Sky" was incredible, and the Planetarium's "Constellations" show was a great introduction to star-gazing. The exhibits between the Science Center and Planetarium were very cool, especially the retro science fiction items. Happily surprised to experience the Dr. Who memorabilia and "actual size" TARDIS (sadly, could not enter to confirm the "actual size" claim 😉).Why one star off? One word: parking. $15, and though you can "pre pay" inside on your way out, it doesn't change the fact that it still takes too long to get through the exit gate one car at a time. And you can't park or enter on the Planetarium side anymore at all. Go on a Sunday and park free on Oakland to avoid this.

Educational exhibits about the Mississippi River & tours, plus a working lock & dam.

I was delighted to visit this historic place. John was our tour guide and he was so enthusiastic about the history of this dam. There is a lot to see inside the museum as well as the free tour of the dam. My most favorite part was up top of the dam overlooking the river right as a barge came in. This place would be fascinating for both young and old so do yourself a favor and go visit!!

What a neat place. Great Museum. Missed the Free tour ,hopefully next time we get to go. Also got our National Park Card, mine was free and will be a lifetimeCard. Daughter had to pay $80 for the year.

Hoferin O — Google review

Nice free small museum. Unfortunately a lot of the interactive displays were broken. The tour was only three times a day so plan accordingly. Hopefully the displays will be fixed in the future. It would have been nice to have the interactive pilot house working.

Dan M — Google review

Very cool place to visit and learn some interesting things. Lots of interactive and fun stuff for the kids.

Theresa M — Google review

Took a day trip and stopped here. The museum was very interesting but we didn't know there were tours. Next time we will be better prepared. The staff are kind and knowledgeable, the building, grounds, and exhibits well kept. FreeHighly recommend as long as you check what time the tours start and they have movies.

M J — Google review

Really cool and informative tour of the lock. You are able to go all the way out to the middle and look out over the Mississippi. The museum itself is also very neat and interactive, great for families with children.

Autumn D — Google review

Our tour guide K was very knowledgeable and kind. She wore a mask the whole time which we appreciated but didn't enforce mask wearing in the building for the most chatty guy of the group. He kept talking and talking but wearing his mask on his chin with his mouth and nose exposed. Definitely tried to stay very far away from him and he made the experience uncomfortable for us. Why bother wearing a mask on your chin at all if you aren't going to wear it right? The museum was a fun, short pit stop (other than the disrespectful guy above the rules). It was a bummer that the elevator to go to the top was broken so make sure you call ahead and check on the status if you are hoping for some good outside views. It's free though so totally worth it to stop. Spent less than an hour here.Ask tour guide K about fish! Just do it!

Alix T — Google review

Great educational experience about the Dam and history around St Louis Mississippi River. We even saw a live Eagles nest from looking into their telescope. Free Tour of Dam, it’s not a long tour but very educational.

Eric D — Google review

The very good exhibits provided a good understanding of the workings of the rivers in this area. The barge captain simulator was my favorite. We visited on a day where a festival was going on so the lock tours were semi self guided. The staff was very kind.

George S — Google review

Very interesting place to visit. Working in the Wood River area and found this museum. Alot of information on the history for the Mighty Mississippi River! Also they have a tour of the Lock itself and alot of hands on things to do for the little one's to make it fun for all ages. If in the Wood River or Alton IL area and have extra time, I recommend you take a visit to this museum.

Bobby T — Google review

First time in Alton area for birdwatching and wasn’t disappointed. Damon and Seth were super helpful and nice. They have a great museum that’s interactive.

Sweet small museum. Staff was so friendly. Tour of the dam and locks was interesting!

Great information about the impact of rivers on the local economy, as well as descriptions and examples of local plants and animals. We did not arrive at a time where a tour was convenient, but hoping to do so next time. 3 different times were offered and I am certain it would have been worth our time.

Michael H — Google review

We will have to come back for the tour, couldn’t fit it in today. Kids age 8-13 enjoyed it. Nice path to walk along the river to the south, plenty of parking, nice shelter for a picnic along the path.

A terrific statue, sans glasses. Robert was a very noble and good human being who justly the honor done to him. Up he showed the world that just because something might appear wonderful it can also be a disability but yet through it all he came through with grace and courage.

Joe K — Google review

Great for teaching kids! You can reach them about genetics and math (size and scale) and then go see his statue. Kids love to sit in his chair or stand next to him/ under his hand. Lovely tribute to Mr. Wadlow.

Meredith R — Google review

A real piece of history!! The world's tallest man! Stand next to him and see how you stack up to him. Put your shoe next to his and see the difference. Sit in his specially made chair. You will get lost in it! He is buried in a cemetary very close by. Don't miss stopping by.

Jay B — Google review

I guess that statue is life size? It would be nice if there was an bio board with some details. Maybe we missed it

Corinne L — Google review

Worth a stop! PROTIP: 30’ parking on the street right in front of the statue.

This is a fun photo op to make when visiting Alton, Illinois! Robert only lived to be 22 because he got an infection in his feet which killed him. #bucketlistRobert Wadlow was the tallest man to have ever lived. He was born in Alton in 1918 and at the time of his death in 1940, Wadlow measured 8-feet, 11.1 inches tall. He is named in the Guinness World Records book.

Neat place to visit if you are interested in the history of the small river town of Alton, Illinois. Great photo op for kids and adults alike, comparing your height and shoe size next to the Gentle Giant of Alton.

I always loved history and visiting historical places and figures

Hathor J — Google review

Wow! You just don't realize how tall a 9 foot guy is until you stand next to one! This is a interesting and sad story as he only lived to 22 years old.Worth the stop if near the area.

James G — Google review

Such an interesting bit of history. It's very sobering to see in person how tall he really was and imagine how uncomfortable he must have been his entire life. Worth the visit.

Christy J — Google review

This is a small tribute to the Gentle Giant. It is in a small grass area with brick walkway that is more of an in-memorium of the local celebrity than a it is a park. Nonetheless this is a worthwhile visit because you can stand next to a life sized sculpture and replica chair that he used.

Jeffrey — Google review

Very interesting!! It was cool to learn about someone so different who left a lasting impact on his community.

Greg B — Google review

We were so excited to stop and see the statue of the tallest man in the world. It was raining so no one was there. If you are in the area, stop and check it out! Also research Robert Wadlow. Very interesting!!

Casinos & Gambling

Riverboat with lots of slots & table games plus performances & various dining options.

The service is fast and friendly. Your not in Vegas but it gets the job done. Go Gators

Jake S — Google review

This is a nice small casino with a colorful upbeat look to it. I wonder if the management would be kind enough to let us know via a response to this review if and when the second floor (upstairs) will be back in operation? The upstairs had several fun older style slot machines and some of us really do miss it. News about whether it is coming back or not would be very appreciated.

Kody B — Google review

Gaudy decor, weird smells, A TON of employees (that helps the local economy I suppose), only one level of gaming, very little to almost zero payouts on any machines (I've been to Vegas and know better to play table games), expensive drinks and food reflecting the absolute lack of attention to detail or care. I'm a chef and I was appalled, neverless disappointed. You'd think in a place that makes MILLIONS per year on electronic gaming alone would offer something close to a 2 or 3 star worthy food rating AND make it affordable? Nope. This place represents many sins, but, the food and beverage costs are unacceptable. I only pop in here once or twice a year and I'm reminded why with a new, bad experience each time. Sad it was the first and only time I've eaten there. In my 30 years working in kitchens all over the US, I can confidently say Argosy should not serve food without a complete overhaul of their staff back there.

Mark F — Google review

I've been back to Argosy a few times lately, really like the improvements made and I heard they are now getting a steak house which is a definite plus...really like the additional casino floor space....still would like to see a few more slots, but overall, for a small quaint casino, not too shabby with the improvements made!

Jill B — Google review

They have recently installed metal detectors you must walk through and empty your pockets before entering the casino. This really doesn't give an inviting welcome and is extremely over the top. This is not the airport, if security is the issue than you need to hire more security guards, not metal detect/pat down/wand your patrons. We stopped by with family after spending the day in Grafton and were all surprised by this new entry regulation. Needless to say we have no intention of returning.

Rich H — Google review

This was my favorite casino until tonight. They got rid of all the keno machines and replaced them with video poker. Only one of those machines has keno, and it only has Keno, Multi Card Keno, and Caveman Keno. The denomination values available to play only consist of 5-cents, 25-cents, and one dollar. The staff working the entry are normally happy and upbeat, which always created for a warm and inviting feeling. Today they asked if it was our first time there today, which was pretty odd. The casino had a strange, eerie vibe that we had never experienced before. We won't be back. It was fun while it lasted.

Kristin L — Google review

Not a bad casino. I did wait about 15 minutes to get a drink. There were only two of us at the bar but everybody that walked up to the service side got served immedietly. Meanwhile I'm sitting at the bar watching everyone get their drinks. No apology, not a word from the tender of why i was still waiting. As far as the games themselves... the machines were pretty tight. It was Sunday night so i thought they would be a little more friendly.. lol. Also they had a decent craps fans going and a few people at the BJ table. My first visit. I give it a 6-7 on the 10 point scale.

Tom W — Google review

We ate at the grill. The food was cold. We were the only ones in the dining room at the time. The wing would have been so much better hot. The potatoes were not warm again the gravy would have sooo much better warm. The waitress was great, very warm and inviting.

Jody D — Google review

This place is nice. Very colorful. Loose slots and very friendly people. I'm hoping that soon the live entertainment and the larger choice of food will return which was shut down do to the pandemic yet at this time, there is still much fun to be had. Argosy will help with all your needs like directing you to gamblers anonymous if needed. Also providing handicap availability.

Assmartech — Google review

Horrible don’t waste your money or time. Customers are literally thrown out at 10 minutes before actual closing time. The facility only has 1 level instead of 3 which it started with and all the older machines I play are gone so I was very disappointed. Will not be returning didn’t want to give it 1 star.

Kevina C — Google review

Always clean. Calm atmosphere. Fun slots and games. Bloody Mary's 6/10 but definitely enjoyable. Affordable drink prices.

Amber ( — Google review

I gave 2 stars for the memories I've shared with my family there, back in the 90s/early 2000s. However, things have taken a dramatic turn for the worse. I won't blame those new slots at the local bars. This is on the casino. First off, the top 2 floors are now restaurant's instead of slot machine options. 2ndly, they've taken the best machines and removed them and replaced them with the Almighty penny machines, which btw, do absolutely nothing but take take take! Example, I played $1 per spin and on average hit 35 cents!? This isn't winning it's losing in a BIG way! Maybe I'll have a dream about Alton Belle when it used to be awesome! That'll be a really nice dream!

Brad W — Google review

The head of security, George, has to be the dumbest, most clueless wannabe cops I've ever met. I told him I can't go through the metal detectors or get wanded because I have a pacemaker. He's so arrogant he won't listen to the fact that pacemakers and metal detectors (even the wand) can't mix. Despite a medical card, proof and an adult conversation, George wanted to play tough guy. His bosses should be ashamed of his pathetic actions. I hope you guys review your policies and teach your head of security how the world works intead of having him enforce his ignorance like a mentally challenged boy lost in the village.

A C — Google review

Small casino and not much excitement. Comps are next to nothing and drinks and food are overpriced. Business at this place has gone down big time since Illinois decided to allow gaming at bars and restaurants. You would think they would offer drink specials or cheap food to compete with them. I guess they don't care.

Randy C — Google review

I visited Argosy Casino in Alton, Illinois for the first time for dinner at the buffet. I'm not a gambler, but we did walk around the gaming floor and played a few games. The dinner buffet was ok. There wasn't a huge selection like at other casinos, but it wasn't too bad. I was full. Walking around the gaming floor wasn't too bad either. We did play a few games. There wasn't a line for us to get the playing card and it was an easy process. I will say that I've visited other casinos in the area and this one was the smallest I've ever been too. We drove from St. Louis where the casinos are bigger, have more clubs/restaurants and much bigger buffets. The Argosy Casino is quaint and was great for us to experience being that it was my first time. We did go on an evening during the week and their still wasn't too many people there which was nice for us as we didn't have to fight through crowds. If you're looking for a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, this was a great spot. The drive in from St. Louis was amazing scenery as well from seeing the sunset over the rivers to the cute town of Alton.

Unfortunately we went to the Riverside Grill for dinner. It is a poorly managed restaurant. Tables were dirty. Staff just didn't seem to care at all. My salad was given to the table next to me who literally just sat down. So when my overcooked steak came my salad arrived at the same time. While the guy at the table next to me finished my salad just in time for my steak to arrive. Overall a very miserable experience. They really need to get their act together.
