(217) Plastic surgery and face reading (1)

By Janet Shin

A woman running a private educational institute asked me whether having plastic surgery would bring her better fortune or not. Her business has not been bad, but she felt alone in her marriage and suffered from anxiety. She couldn't point out what exactly about her husband made her forlorn but she thought something must be done to correct this situation. The woman asked if having a surgical procedure on her face would improve her married life and release any feelings of devastation that she had.

In order to get more convincing answers, it is worthwhile to refer to both saju and face readings. She has already had double-eyelid surgery done and it didn't seem so necessary to have additional jobs. However once a woman's mind is devoured by something, especially about her beauty, it is hard to have a second thought.

Moreover it is occasionally recommended for those who are expected to have trouble by the coming year's energy. It is for the purpose of countervailing the bad fortune of having a physical injury. For example, one's own misfortune is often allayed by others, such as siblings or grandparents. Accidents or surgery can also be a type of substitute, because they alternate with each other. However successful and happy we are, we all experience some obstacles at certain point of our life. If it is anticipated to be too ferocious, having another replacement would be a wiser solution than trying to step aside.

There are two kinds of face readings, one is physiognomy and the other is face impressionism. I am more referring to physiognomy. It is a traditional way to tell one's fortune by reading the face. Face impressionism is not far from conventional beauty standards, while physiognomy has a different significance. Good physiognomy is often irrelevant with so called pretty or handsome faces. It does not correspond to the aesthetic value of the time. If one had plastic surgery, it would be for a better face impressionism. One may become prettier, but it is not always good for the fortune.

Owing to this reason, I seldom agree to propose plastic surgery if it is not either to correct functional problems or to improve disharmonious features. The former should be asked if doctors involved in that; and it comes before face reading. The latter can be judged by your own view points. Face matching is more about the general symmetry and the straightness of a nose.

For example, wealth is portrayed by one's nose and the forehead shows one's innate fortune, by which reputation, authority and social positions are revealed. Chins represent one's latter life to explain one's human relations, especially with one's subordinates.

Many people want to have a face resembling some famous movie stars or singers. They simply show pictures of a celebrity who they want to be and ask a plastic surgeon to conduct the surgery. However, a nose job, improperly done, may lessen one's wealth fortune. An elevated nose bridge can bring more willpower but it is basically recommended to maintain natural face harmony. Reducing the nose tip roundness may even let the money leak. The nose bridge denotes one's aspiration and you keep your exertion in your nose tip. So they are also called a purse where you put your money.

Reading her saju, it turned out to have a clash between two earthly branches and she was not meant to have any type of surgery this year. I explained this to her, but if she was to have plastic surgery, it must be done cautiously not to cause bad luck.

A week later, I got a call from her saying that she was hospitalized, not by the plastic surgery but by falling and hurting herself on an icy road in accident. She sounded delighted, because her depression had disappeared after this small accident as her family, especially her husband was taking good care of her. On top of that, the fact that her face as it was had good physiognomy that brings her happiness and wealth have already comforted her, without plastic surgery.
